Chapter 28

I felt my mind drifting away.

It was like "I" was fading.

I forced myself to “stay awake”.

For some reason, it felt like if I were to fall asleep again, “I” would disappear.

If you ask me, the normal "me" would simply accept that. However, this "me" was still stubbornly trying hard to “be here”.

My head was pounding like crazy, and my breath became ragged.

I lifted up my eyesight.

That cat was staring at me.

He didn’t say anything.

Come to think of it, I haven’t been able to hear anything in a while. Not even the tictacs of the clock.

Is he saying something? Is he not?

I kept asking myself that.

But, alas, because I got distracted, once again “I fell asleep”.
