Chapter 81:
Beyond The Stars
Chapter 81: The Mighty Divine Zeth
With access to temporary divine power, Zeth is ready to go on the counterattack against Poleon’s Fraction!
“Interesting,” Poleon says.
“I hope you are ready because I am about to crush you!” Zeth declares.
Suddenly, Zeth hears Harmona’s voice in his head.
“Zeth.”
“Mother?”
“When you use the stones, I am able to speak to you telepathically because they are powered by my energy. Listen, Poleon is evil. I would say a different kind of evil from the Dark Goddess. You shouldn’t even be engaging Poleon until you have your permanent divine powers back, but with your temporary divine powers, you should be able to defeat his fraction. There’s no time to explain him. Just know that by using your temporary divine powers, one of the stones has broken. You can only use it three more times. Don’t let off the gas. Keep destroying the fraction until you can escape.”
“Got it. Here I go!”
Zeth bursts forward at blazing speed, reaching the fraction in almost an instant. He kicks it into the air, then immediately jumps after it. Bringing his hands together, he slams them down into the fraction’s body, sending it crashing back into the ground below.
“Impressive attack,” Poleon comments.
The fraction pushes itself up and looks around, but Zeth is nowhere in sight.
He suddenly appears behind it, preparing an energy attack as the fraction notices him. The fraction attempts a backward kick, but Zeth grabs its leg with his right hand. In response, it drives its elbow into Zeth’s face, disrupting the attack and ruining the buildup of energy.
“Got you before you could get your attack off. You will have to try harder next time,” Poleon says.
The fraction follows up with a spinning kick, knocking Zeth backward.
“Damn, I thought I could end this quickly!” Zeth mutters.
He wipes the blood from his face and pushes himself back to his feet.
“You are not as powerful as you would be if you were using your permanent divine power,” Harmona says. “The fraction will still put up a fight.”
“I see that now. What should my strategy be?”
“Poleon is directly controlling the fraction, but it’s not as likely to make its movements as quickly as Poleon would be able to do with his actual body.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means there is a slight delay between when he commands the movement and when it actually happens.”
“How long is this delay?”
“Likely a few dozen milliseconds.”
“That’s barely anything! That’s less than a twentieth of a second!”
“Trust me, even a tiny delay like that can be the difference between victory and defeat. You just need to keep up your onslaught of attacks, and eventually, you will prevail!”
“That makes sense. I will keep at it then!”
Zeth charges forward, colliding with the fraction in a rapid exchange of punches. They move as they fight, the fraction being driven backward while Zeth presses forward relentlessly. With the sheer speed of Zeth’s strikes, the fraction struggles to keep up and begins taking hit after hit.
“These are some fierce blows you are landing. Your determination is commendable,” Poleon remarks.
The exchange ends when Zeth lands a heavily powered magic punch that sends the fraction flying back. Without hesitation, he releases a Star Shine Blast with his other hand.
The blast hits directly, erupting into an explosion.
“That’s right! Show him what you’re made of!” Sasha shouts, having regained some of her energy.
The fraction rises again, its body filled with holes that begin slowly sealing themselves. Zeth glares, frustration rising.
“Hmhmhm! You would have to completely destroy the entire thing at once to end it,” Poleon says.
“Don’t be discouraged! You can do this!” Harmona urges.
“I do have other tricks up my sleeve.” Zeth says as he forms six Star Shards and throws them forward. The shards rip through the fraction, tearing limbs free. As it struggles, Zeth prepares his next move.
“Shining Kick!”
He launches himself forward with a magic-powered kick, shredding the fraction into pieces roughly the size of baseballs. For a brief moment, it seems finished. Then the fragments pull back together, reforming into a single shape.
“Oh, so you want me to turn it to dust size?” Zeth asks, once again annoyed.
“Can you do it? I doubt it,” Poleon replies.
“Oh yes, I can,” Zeth says with a smirk. He then thinks, “I don’t have to worry about destroying anything here.” He looks over at Sasha and shouts, “Sasha! Get back! You can’t be near the fight for what I’m about to do!”
She retreats a good distance away. “Is this enough?”
“Yeah. Now it’s time!”
Zeth enters Raging Star Mode. His body becomes tinted dark red as his aura rages violently around him. “Oh yeah! This will absolutely make sure there is nothing left!”
Zeth has entered Raging Star Mode while having Divine Power! Just how destructive can the mode get with this power?!
