Chapter 2:

I said I hate you!

I Said Hate, Not Love!

During class, Miko learned some stuff about the weirdo who sits next to her. The boy’s name is Ren Hassa, He is considered to be the hottest and most popular boy in school, and Every girl is obsessed with him.

When the lunch bell rang, Miko started to leave her desk with her lunch, with her head down to avoid the stares of the girls around her.

As she reached the entrance to leave, the door suddenly slid open violently, and she was shoved out of the way, onto the ground.

Miko looked up with a look of disgust, but upon seeing Erina’s eyes glaring at her as though she were filth, Miko just retreated to looking down at the ground defeatedly.

“Sorry, you’re such a nobody I didn’t notice you there.” Erina cooed with a smile as fake as her kindness.

“N-No, it was my fault… for being in your way…” Miko whispered, trying not to make eye contact with her bully.

Miko just watched as Erina ignored her apology, skipping over to the boy Ren, before sitting at Miko’s desk to talk to him, her laughing and flirting could still be heard as Miko picked herself up, and exited the classroom.

Underneath the stairwell, away from those who would hurt her, Miko sat by herself, with a defeated look before opening her lunch.

Inside was some rice, fried chicken cutlets, sausage shaped like an octopus, and a mixed fruit salad.

“If only putting total jerks in their place was as easy as making a bento.” she thought to herself as she began to eat her lunch.

“Why does that Oni girl have to be in our class” “I know, right! And that nickname totally fits her appearance!” The conversation of some girls in her class using the stairs.

“It’s ok. I’m used to it… friends are a waste of time anyways.” Miko whispered to herself, as she held back tears while curling up.

“I hope they all die.” She thought to herself.

—--at the end of the day—--

Miko was at the vending machines, buying drinks for Erina and her friends like she was told to.

“I wonder if I can get away with only getting terrible flavors…” Miko thought to herself, as she was deciding on her selection.

After a few seconds of thought, Miko decided to go with safe options in her drink choices.

Gathering the drinks she was told to get in hand, Miko ran down to the soccer field where Erina and her friends should have been.

“You’re late! You useless girl!” Erina shouted as she spotted Miko, with an expression of frustration and spitefulness.

“I-I’m sorry. You never told me what you wanted to drink, so I went with what I’ve seen you get before…” Miko murmured as she handed the drinks to Erina and her friends.

“I don’t freaking drink melon soda!” Erina shouted, pulling Miko by the hair so her ear was in front of her.

“P-please! Stop! That hurts! And I saw you with one when you bumped into me during lunch!” Miko cried out, with tears streaming down her face.

“No, I don’t! And I don’t want this!” Erina shouted before opening the soda, and pouring it over Miko’s head.

Miko collapsed to her knees, completely in shock. Her eyes wide, her breath shaky, and her head down.

“Get me something else! And if I don’t like it, I will do the same thing again!” Erina barked out, looking down on Miko.

“I’ve had enough….” Miko thought to herself with a solemn expression.

Above her, Erina’s friends were laughing at her misery. Taking joy in her humiliation.

“Does it feel good to treat me like trash?” Miko whispered in an unsure quiet voice, “to humiliate me, treat me like I’m worthless, why? Because I’m not popular? Because I’m not pretty? Because I'm not a brain dead loud mouthed excuse for a human being?” Miko questioned standing up, with a look of pure frustration and pent up anger in her deep blue eyes.

“Why don’t you do society a favor, and jump off a damn cliff already?” Miko growled, looking at Erina like she wanted to tear her head off.

Erina was taken aback, but was about to go off on Miko, when before she could, a soccer ball flew past both her and Miko’s faces. Leaving them both speechless.

“Hey!” a familiar voice shouted, as Ren ran over, sweat running down his face.

“Sorry, my kick went too far, and… hey, Oniwara, why are you all wet? What happened?” Ren asked, now leaning in close to Miko’s face.

“Like you care.” Miko whispered, looking away from him with a scowl, trying to march off.

“Not so fast!” Ren shouted, grabbing her by the wrist.

“What do you want? Just screw off already!” Miko said in a low voice, her brow furrowing in growing anger.

“Like I said, I’m wondering why you are wet!” Ren shouted in a hurt voice.

“It’s not your problem, so leave me the hell alone!” Miko retorted, frustrated.

As the two argued, Miko wanting to be left alone, and Ren wanting to help her, Erina and her group of friends just looked on wondering why Ren, the hottest guy in school, was so forward with the school nobody, when he never showed a single interest in girls aside from being friends.

“Hey, Ren… you make it sound like you actually LIKE this nobody.” Erina sarcastically joked, as her and her friends laughed nervously.

“Yeah, I do. Point being?” Ren responded bluntly, looking back at Erina with a serious face.

“Huh?” was the only response Erina could give.

Miko stomped onto Ren’s foot, forcing him to let go of her arm out of pain.

“Let me say one thing to make it perfectly clear.” Miko whispered, her fists clenched with a look of hatred on her face.

“I ABSOLUTELY HATE YOU, YOU GODDAMN ASSHOLE!” Miko shouted at Ren, before picking up her bag and running all the way home.

“Like hell I will ever fall for such an annoying worthless jerk like him!” Miko thought to herself as her anger was now twice as what it was when she originally mad.
