Isekai and Pom Poms, Part 1

(Pov: Pommy)

"Pommy...I...I love you more than anything!" Said the boy standing in front of me.

The park's fountain was lit up. The sight of him being illuminated in the night was enough to take my breath away. The snowflakes that descended around him looked like they were glowing.

The boy was fidgeting and looked very nervous, it seemed very uncharacteristic of him.

Even though most people would say he looks scary I couldn't help but find him oddly handsome.

There was a warm feeling in my chest, it was like my heart was running its engine to the max. Is this what love feels like?

"I…I...um..."

I didn't know what to say. I've never told someone that I loved them before. My hands were starting to sweat in my winter gloves. Thank god he had no way of knowing.

"..." He waited for my response while trying his best to keep eye contact. At least I think so, I couldn't be a hundred percent sure with his sunglasses on. I didn't even think about why he was wearing them at night.

I decided that I couldn't keep him waiting in silence any longer. All I had to do was listen to what my heart said.

"I...love you too Axel." Was my response.

Then my reality suddenly stopped.

Wait. Who's Axel?

The next thing that I saw was my ceiling. I guess I was dreaming.

I climbed out of bed and let out a yawn as I stretched.

"Morning sunshine." A voice came down by my pillow.

There sat a tiny 'stuffed' bear. He wore a cute top hat and a tuxedo to match.

"Good morning Cheer." I picked him up.

Cheer -or his full name Cheer Paw- despite his looks is not a mascot for a males suit company. He is actually an angel sent down to help stop Ragnarok. He is also the one that turned me into a magical girl.

"How did you sleep?"

"I had an interesting dream."

"Was it about Sir Prince again?"

"N-no!" I put him back down and turned away.

Magical girls aren't the only ones that help protect my town. There are also numerous vigilantes that help us out. One of those is the charmingly mysterious Sir Prince.

"Zackery then." He said as I started changing into my school uniform.

Now he is thinking it was about him. There are numerous types of people in my school. One of those is the charmingly mysterious Zackery.

"Not him either! Why do you assume it was about a boy?"

"It wasn't?"

"Well...it was..."

I dreamt about him once and now he makes fun of me every morning. I usually don't even remember my dreams.

"But I have no idea who it was."

"Maybe it's showing you your future."

I was never the type to believe in superstitions. And besides, the guy in my dream really didn't seem like my type.

"Yeah right. Dreams can't tell you the future."

"You're a magical girl. Is it really that weird of an idea?"

When I was done changing I looked at my mirror as I fixed my bedhead. After I finished brushing my hair I smiled at my reflection.

Today is going to be a good day.

"Hey you better get moving or you're going to be late for school!" My mother yelled from downstairs.

Turning the screen on my phone it told me I had 15 minutes to be in class.

"Why didn't you tell me I was running late!?"

"I'm not your alarm clock! Learn to be a little more independent."

"Ugh whatever."

I grabbed my school bag and headed downstairs.

I ran past my mailbox with a chocolate-covered piece of toast in my mouth.

"You could have eaten first. You're going to be late anyways. Also who eats chocolate first thing in the morning?" Said Cheer who was on my backpack.

"Mmmhmp!"

"Don't talk with your mouth full! Disgusting!"

Unfortunately, I had to multitask. The Dark God Ragnarok has been getting more aggressive with his attacks as of late. Last night my friends and I had to fight against his latest creation, the Green Demon. These plots of his often made me late to school.

There were only ten more minutes till class started. Luckily for me, I have done this so many times that I knew the fastest way there.

If you cut through the park, slide down the railing on main street, and cut through the alley you could make it to the school's entrance in about eight minutes. Give or take.

The park had nobody in it. This wasn't surprising, it was early and still too cold for anyone to be out here. Which was perfect for me.

Leaving a cloud of pink smoke and glitter I crossed the park in twenty seconds. Cheer held on to me with all his might.

Sorry, I should have warned you.

"Hey, would you!? What would we do if someone saw you?"

"Relax there's no one around." I said but I don't know if he understood me with my mouth full.

After I left the park a railing that went down the hill leading to main street came next. I leaped onto it and skated down it. A pile of snow exploded as I flew into it off the railing.

Picking myself up I started to head to my next destination when I halted.

The pounding in my head was severe enough to make me drop my toast. It felt like something was being forced into my brain.

I held onto my head as I started thinking about my darling Axel. My loving boyfriend.

Wait, what is this? Darling? I don't even have a boyfriend!

"You ok?"

"Y-yeah I'm fine."

"Take it easy Pommy."

"I'm just a little tired…"

I continued on into main street. Many of the buildings were completely black. This was unfortunately the battleground of last night's fight. By the time Botan, Harmony and I stopped the Green Demon, half the street was destroyed.

I couldn't help but feel guilty.

From one of the burnt down buildings an older woman with a black cat next to her was digging through the remains of what was a cafe. She was the owner.

I stopped running and looked at her.

I'm sorry...

"You're going to be late for school…" A voice came from my backpack.

"I'll only be a minute. Besides, wasn't it you who said I'm going to be late anyways?"

The old lady turned and noticed me. She gave me a nod.

"Oh I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bother you."

"You're not bothering me at all. It's quite a sight isn't it?"

"It's...awful."

I walked over to her. Everything was ruined.

"I'm sorry…"

"It's not your fault. It was that monster that did this."

It is my fault. If only I had come sooner...

"I don't know what me and Gullivar are going to do now." She looked down to her cat. He seemed completely unbothered by his situation.

"I'd be glad to help in any way!"

"Such a sweet girl. But this isn't something you can help with."

"I can help look for anything to salvage."

"Don't you have school?"

"It's fine. It's fine, my teacher will understand."

If it was last school year maybe. My teacher this year is much more strict. I was most definitely going to have detention for a week.

I helped her for about two hours but nothing came from it. Not a single thing.

My jacket and gloves was covered in black.

"I'm sorry...ma'am I couldn't find anything..."

"Quit apologizing so much. You have done more than enough. Truly I thank you."

Tears started swelling up. I rubbed my eyes with the sleeve of my jacket.

"I'm sorry… I…"

She patted my head.

"You have a kind heart. You remind me of one of those magical girls."

"But...they didn't save your pl-"

"That doesn't matter. If they hadn't stopped that devil a lot more places would be like mine."

"Th-thank you…"

"Mhm, now I think I've kept you here long enough. You should get to school."

"I will!"

I continued on my way to school as I waved to the lady. Walking instead of running this time. I was way too late for it to even matter at this point.

"You have never been quite this late before. Congratulations."

"I know…"

"I'm proud of you. I know I made the right choice In making you a magical girl."

I looked away as my cheeks turned red. I never knew how to take a compliment.

"It was nothi-"

Before I could finish I saw someone pass me into an alleyway I was heading.

"Pommy?"

I tried to catch up to him but no one was in the alley. I could have sworn that the person looked like the boy from my dream.

"Huh?"

"Pommy you're acting weirder than usual today. What's up with you?"

"Didn't you see that guy?"

"What are you talking about? There isn't a single person besides us. Maybe you should just go back home and get some rest."

"N-no i'm fine! I promise." I reassured as I stared down the Alley.
