Chapter 23:

Chapter 18(Part 1) - First Time To Ferris Wheel And--Nothing Really

Shadowed Love

“Then how about a Ferris wheel? I’m sure the scenery is great up there!” Lily was still bright and excited but the group was like they were on the verge of dying.

“How about we eat dinner first?” Poui suggested, who was panting and was the first one to recover from the trauma of that shit—I mean ship.

“Okay then… are you guys okay now?” Lily asked the whole group who had just recovered from the puking and were wiping their mouths.

“Where should we eat?” she asked while walking around with the group. “Barbecues?” Catte suggested and they all immediately agreed.

“Guys, I love this!” Lily commented while chewing a barbecue.

“Yep, tastes great.” Cassie agreed with her.

Not a long time had passed and they emptied the whole 4 plates of barbecue, so they ordered another 6.

“Haaa…… I’m so full…….” Lily said while caressing her stomach and walking through the amusement park. “Thanks guys.” She said, referring to the group helping her pay the bill by adding their own money when she was about to place her card.

“It’s no problem, Lily. You already did so much for us, that was just us paying you back.” Jillian said and the group agreed.

“Then shall we ride the Ferris wheel for our last ride?” Lily asked and they all smiled.

“I just got to say this now since I was busy puking earlier, but I agree with what you said earlier.” Poui said while smiling.

“Yep, the view must be great up there.” Qeru agreed.

“Then we should hurry up! Come on!” Lily pulled the group again and ran towards the Ferris wheel.

“Come on, Talia…” Lily was about to pull her inside one of the rides but just pulled Hazuka and let him sit with her. “You should have your alone time, lovebirds.” She said teasingly and saw Hazuka blush and Lily with wide and shocked eyes before the door closed.

Four people can ride in one room but she just let them be since Hazuka kept quiet the whole hangout and figured out he wanted time alone with his tiger cub.

“Now then, shall we?” she turned to Poui and Jillian, who were going on the same ride while Qeru, Cassie, and Nagie would be on the other ride.

As expected, the view from the top was even more fascinating at night, making their jaws drop.

Lily and Hazuka were the first to get down since they were the first to ride and Catte saw Lily having a flustered face with slightly swelled lips, while Hazuka just held her arm with a determined face, unlike the past few days that he looked like a shy bunny, wishing for his master’s attention—he now looks like a fierce cat who was going to shamelessly snuggle you up everywhere and unexpectedly devour you.

‘Woah…. What a great improvement, Hazuka. I thought you were just going to talk to her but it seems like you confessed your undeniable feelings. Keep it up, little kitten.’ Catte thought to herself and chuckled, still seeing Hazuka as a little kitten since he still looked like he would always have Lily’s permission for everything he do.

“Hey!” Lily greeted them once they all got out of the room.

“Ahhhh, I want to go to a karaoke bar but it is already late and we still have classes tomorrow. What a waste…” she suddenly became gloomy when she remembered something.

“Then how about just doing it again tomorrow?” Catte suggested, and the others agreed.

“But tomorrow will be our trip to Yulioe..” she said, troubled, making the others shocked because she had just decided that herself and they were not even informed that it was already tomorrow. They haven’t even packed their luggage yet!

“What!?” Poui asked, shocked. They just said that they wanted to go there, but not this soon!

“Huh? Why?” Lily asked in confusion. She was confused because she thought they wanted to go to Yulioe and didn’t expect their shocked expressions.

Just a background of Lily’s personality, she always plans ahead. And if I say ahead, it means tomorrow. She is that advanced and she even planned out their activities there in her head while they were just walking and getting lost earlier. Note that she was also talking while walking.

“It’s already tomorrow?” Jillian asked while they were walking out of the amusement park.

“Yep! We will have our vacation there since we have a one-week break before midterms. It will be fuuunnnn!!!!” Lily answered and jumped excitedly.

“We won’t even prepare for midterms?” Cassie asked with a complicated mind. She wanted to come along with them to Yulioe, but her being studious, she was having a second-thought if she really wanted to come.

“Of course, we will be there for only five days. I am not that inconsiderate that I will leave the studious people here with such difficult choices!” Cassie, Nagie, and Qeru, who are studious, threw out their second-thoughts and made up their minds.

“That is why we are going to leave tomorrow so we can go back on Wednesday! We can even bring our school materials there!” Lily added, and the studious people’s faces lit up.

“Really?” they all asked for confirmation in synch.

“It is really peaceful there and is stress-free. You can even earn some money if you helped them have their sales.” Hazuka was the one who answered their questions, playing along with Lily to reduce her difficulties of convincing the whole group.

Of course, even though they lied about having their childhood there, they still visited that place, so he sounded confident in his answer, since it was the truth.

“Okay then!” Cassie was the first one to agree.

“No problem for me!” Nagie also agreed, which made the group look at Qeru, who was the last studious person to agree yet. Right now, reviewing for midterms is not her problem, since they can actually bring their materials, but because she is not sure if her parents will allow her to go with them to such a place known as really remote.

“Uh… I’m not really sure….” Qeru said while looking down, making the group confused.

“Huh? Why?” some of them asked while circling around her.

“Uh… my parents might disagree since we are going to a ‘remote’ place.” She honestly said, making the others sigh in defeat, as one of their comrades had less than fifty percent chance of coming, except from Lily, who was wondering why that was a problem.

“Huh? That’s no problem for the great Lily!” she said and pointed her right index finger up, placing her left hand on her waist like she had just thought of a brilliant idea with a proud face.

“You will ask them for permission for me?” Qeru asked her and Lily looked at her like the answer was already obvious.

“Of course! I won’t leave any one in our squad alone while we are having our vacation!” Lily said excitedly and added, “Shall we do it now?” that made Qeru flustered. It was already nine o’clock in the evening!

“I think we can just do it tomorrow before we have a ride to Yulioe, so they have no choice.” Catte suggested, a veteran of asking permission for her friends since she was in elementary. This suggestion was just little compared to her other techniques.

“Oh, good idea Catte!” Lily said happily and looked at the squad, who also felt excited about tomorrow.

“Now that it is all settled, shall we head home?” Hazuka asked and secretly held Lily’s hand, making sure the others wouldn’t see it. His move made her flustered but acted normally, giving Hazuka a sign that it was okay for her.

“Yeah, it’s already late. They might be worried now.” Qeru agreed and the others also nodded their heads.

“You didn’t ask for permission!?” Lily asked, shocked. She thought they had asked permission from their parents, so staying out late was all good for them.

“I mean, I did, but they are strict and I have a curfew.” Qeru explained, and Lily sighed in relief.

“Oh, Cinderella…” Lily mumbled.

“Okay then, let’s go home.” She said, and the group followed her walking in the streets. There was no leader in their squad but they were subconsciously following her because of her bright aura.

“Let’s part here since we go in different directions.” Jillian said when they were already in the street where there are so many intersections and arrows.

“This is kind of creepy.” Catte commented, so Lily immediately looked at her.

“Don’t worry, we will part at the opposite streets and that’s not here, so we will still get to accompany you to your street.” She said casually while the other just grouped themselves with someone whose house was near them.

“Bye guys! I had fun! Can’t wait for tomorrow!” Lily waved goodbye to the squad.

“Yeah!”

“See you!”

“Let’s go directly to Qeru’s house to kidnap her!” they all shouted in agreement before going their own ways.

“Haa….. I’m tired….” Lily stretched her arms while the three of them were walking home.

“You don’t seem tired at all earlier.” Catte commented casually while still walking. She really felt like a thirdwheel since Lily and Hazuka were holding hands on her left.

‘What did I do to deserve this?’ Catte thought to herself, referring to her suffering right now because of the two love birds, it’s like she was being slapped by the reality that she does not have a boyfriend.

“Of course, if I showed that I was tired, the whole group would feel tired too.” Lily said, aware of the fact that the group couldn’t feel their tiredness earlier since Lily was so bright.

“We’re here.” Hazuka interfered and the two girls looked around. Indeed, they were really in the area where they go to opposite streets.

“Oh… Bye Catte!” Lily waved and her hand so she waved back.

“Bye Hazuka!” Catte also bid goodbye to Hazuka.

“Bye, see you tom.” He said in monotone and they started walking, so Catte also started walking to her street.

“Ha…. How did today end up like this?” Catte was swinging her arms around to stretch them.

The street was really well-lit so she didn’t feel creepy at all—just a little. Walking alone in a street at night kind of gives her a creepy vibe where someone will just abduct her there.

Her heart beat faster as she could now see the apartment and started walking really fast to reach it faster. As she ran closer and closer to the apartment, her heart beat faster and faster.

‘Ahhhhh!!!’ she left an inner scream in her head once she reached the apartment door where she could now feel safe.

“Catte?” Catte shrieked when Tina suddenly opened the door, which freaked her out and made Tina laugh.

“Why so scared?” Tina asked and let Catte in, who was holding her chest.

“Auntie, why didn’t you tell me that the streets here feel creepy? I nearly had a heart attack.” She said while panting a little to calm herself down.

“What do you mean? It feels really great for us, especially if we are in hunting season. You really are different, Cate.” Tina said casually, not being confused about why she felt like that when all vampires are supposed to feel great with that kind of aura.

“Uh…. Hehe. By the way, next week is our vacation, right? Me and the gang were planning to have our vacation in Yulioe. Can I have your permission?” Catte felt nervous so she changed the topic instead.

“What? Yulioe?” Tina repeated, incredulously.

“Yes.” Catte answered with a hopeful expression.

“Out of all the places, you chose to go to Yulioe? What if something happened to you there?” Tina said with worry.

“Not at all. She said that they are very welcoming there.” Catte answered, that made Tina have a look on her face like ‘unbelievable’ even more.

“Who told you that and who are you coming with?” Tina asked incredulously.

“Lily said it and it was also their hometown, and I am also going with her, Hazuka, Poui, Qeru, Cassie, Nagie, and Jillian.” Catte mentioned all of their squad members but the only name that left into Tina’s mind was that bright girl who was all smile.

“Okay then. Tomorrow, right? You might want to pack your things tonight.” She said like Yulioe is a beach. She just agreed immediately because she heard that Catte was going with Lily. She didn’t know any of the names Catte had mentioned.

“You made so many friends, Catte.” She added and smiled gently.

“Yep, I am really happy.” Catte also smiled, so Tina added a question.

“By the way, how was tonight’s hangout? It seems like you all didn’t notice the time.”

“Yeah! We had fun! It was really fun!” Catte got excited again, thinking of what happened earlier.

“That’s great, then… I will not take your time any longer, go and pack your things for tomorrow and have a rest.” Tina sighed, so Catte just nodded and went upstairs.

‘Uh… I guess this will do for a five-day vacation…’ Catte thought to herself while looking at the backpack where she had placed all her clothes and things.

‘Oh shit there’s still classes tomorrow!’ Catte immediately fixed her things and went to bed.

‘Ha….. I am really coming this far in this world, huh?’ she thought while feeling longed before sleeping.
