ANTI COUPLE SQUAD
September, 06, Monday.
Block 7, City B, District 9
Buzzer noise from a phone crammed the murky and silent room of Liam Reid, a 15-year-old first-year high schooler. He was sleeping on his right side, snuggling a pillow as if there was an individual beside him.
*IS TO FEEL THE WARMTH,*
The alarm caused turmoil in his sleep, which was evident on his face as his eyebrows twitched. He moved his left hand on the bed, struggling to find the phone that was causing a dreadful sound to penetrate his ears. He didn't open his eyes, partly because he wasn't willing to leave the domain of solace.
*THROUGH YOUR HEART,*
As the alarm continued he had no choice but to slowly open his eyes, to find the culprit that disturbed his peace.
He grabbed the phone and eventually stopped the alarm, however, instead of going back to slumber, as his face was indicating earlier, he scrolled through a few online posts. Much like any ordinary human does early in the morning.
He sat on the corner of the bed, going through many pictures of friends he had known in his middle school years.
His eyes weren't saying much other than showing a slight hint of tiredness. Liam sighed, closed his phone, dropped it on the bed, and stretched his arms before getting up and moving toward the bathroom.
*IS TO FILL THE EMPTINESS,*
The house where Liam was, had 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens, and 2 bathrooms. Considering the family size the house was big for them. The ground floor had 3 bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen, and one bathroom. While the rest was on the first floor.
After washing his face, Liam walked downstairs, passing through the top-floor kitchen which had nothing but a sink installed, giving a hint that it was never used to cook anything.
*THROUGH YOUR SMILE,*
As he reached down, he found a dish of food already present on the table with no signs of anyone else being in that house.
He looked down, with sadness in his eyes. Tears almost came out rushing as he reached the kitchen table and sat.
*THE COLD… IT'S USUALLY OUTSIDE,*
'Why did they make salted peas for breakfast?'
Liam, who was wearing trousers and a t-shirt at the time, cleaned his eyes with the light green t-shirt, using the belly portion of it.
*BUT I FEEL THE SNOW,*
While doing so, his eyes set on the garbage can placed near the kitchen shelf, egg shells and an empty pack of roasted beef were painfully visible.
'it's my first day at high school and I'm the one who is getting leftovers.'
The tears couldn't stop and came out in full force.
*COVERING MY SOUL.*
Just like how Liam was sleeping before, Keily, a 15yo also a first-year student, was sleeping in the same position. Her room was bright unlike Liam's with lights on, showing the vibrant colors of her bed and walls. The room was tidy, which wasn't normal for any teen. Maybe she was a clean freak or had someone else clean it for her.
*THE SNOW… OF FEARS AND WORRIES,*
A woman in her 20s dressed in a maid uniform, entered Kelly's room gently shoving her to wake Keily up. Which worked as soon after she opened her eyes and immediately sat up.
"Is the breakfast ready?"
Keily spoke as quickly as she got out of her bed, throwing away the pillow she was hugging before. Her eyes for a moment were bright but as soon as the maid came into her sight, the brightness shifted and sadness took over.
It was unclear as to why that happened, maybe she didn't like the maid, or was it because she woke her up. Whatever the case was, the maid felt that sudden change, however, didn't ask about it.
"Yes! Your clothes are also ready and on the stool near your bathroom."
Keily rushed towards the bath without saying anything else, on the way she moved her eyes to her left towards a digital clock hanging on the wall opposite her bed, which was showing 7:33 am.
*PAIN AS A WHOLE.*
The same digital clock showed 8:05 am the time when Keily sat in a car and Liam closed the main door of his house.
*THE LIGHT, THAT SHINES OVER SORROW,*
Liam got on his bicycle and moved towards the school. The school wasn't far from where he was living, it was 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes by bicycle. While he was on the road, Keily's car passed him while honking which scared him a little.
To which, he ground his teeth and cursed the car driver in his head, 'f*ckin' d*ckhead.'
*THE MEDICINE… OF HAPPY TOMORROW.*
The school wasn't starting until 8:40 am and gates weren't closing until 8:30 am which gave Liam some extra time to stop near a small stall that was selling vegetable sandwiches. He got hungry after the sudden adrenaline rush he received from the horns of Keily's car.
To him, those sandwiches were better than a meal of salted peas, even though he hated most types of vegetables.
'Sometimes sacrifices are necessary. Oh, how I miss chicken…'
*IS SOMEONE… YES THE PERFECT ONE,*
As he was waiting for his sandwich to be made, a female student wearing the same uniform as Liam showed up and stood next to him. While Liam was wearing a Dawn pink shirt, dark jungle green tie, smokey green pants, and white joggers. The girl was wearing a dark green skirt along with a shirt and a bow tie.
'A sacrifice, with a reward, damn she is cute, my parents chose a great mixed school for me… thanks, Mom! Dad! I forgive you for your pea scam earlier.'
*OH… I NEED MANY…*
The girl noticed Liam who was in a world far from reality, making a weird face, smiling and staring at her. She instantly moved her eyes around, trying to find if anyone saw her standing here, maybe someone she knew.
When she confirmed that no one did, she moved near Liam and spoke gently, "a word of advice, it is better if you stay away from all the girls of Y. C. S. C. You weirdo."
*BUT I HAVE NONE.*
This broke Liam's spine, he stood there in shock with only one thought in his mind, 'was I so desperate looking that she immediately knew I studied in an all-boys school all my life?'
Classic Liam, being delusional and making up things far different than reality.
