Chapter 373: A Father’s Final Words

Narrator: Kazan is finally defeated… but the mood is still somber.

*After looking up at the night’s sky, Zeth turns around and weakly smiles as he looks at everyone. He reverts from Stage 3 Blood Form to normal. This leaves him shirtless again*

*Zeth nearly passes out as he falls forward. Sasha runs towards him*

Sasha: Zeth!!

*Sasha grabs Zeth before he completely falls face forward on the ground*

Sasha: I got you!

*Zeth weakly smiles*

Zeth: Thanks, Sasha. Help me towards my father.

Sasha: I will.

*Sasha helps the limping Zeth towards the seriously injured Kyle*

*Everyone gives Zeth some space around Kyle*

*Kyle smiles*

Kyle: *coughs* You did good.

Zeth: It wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Kyle: I’m dying. But before my end comes, I wanted to give my final words to you.

*A tear flows down Zeth’s cheek*

Kyle: I’m so proud of you. You are becoming the kind of person that I hoped you would. I told you that I used a spy to keep track of you. It wasn’t for just accomplishing my goal. There was another reason.

*Zeth opens his eyes wide as tears continue to flow*

Kyle: The other reason, maybe even the real reason, was that as your father, I wanted to know how you were doing. It brought a happy smile to my face every time I got an update on you. No hardship ever got you down. And here will probably be the last time I get to see you for a very long time.

*Zeth looks surprised*

Zeth: W- wait? Can’t mom just reincarnate you as an angel?

*Zeth cries more while pointing at Kurt*

Zeth: S- see? My friend there got reincarnated!

*Harmona puts her hand on Zeth’s left shoulder*

Harmona: Zeth, I’m sorry.

Kyle: Unfortunately, to gain and keep the trust of the vampires, I had to do many regrettable things. An extremely high moral standing is needed for angel reincarnation. I lost that during my time as a vampire. But I did it all for your sake.

*Zeth begins crying too much to say more. Sasha tries to comfort him and hugs him tightly*

Kyle: I will give him a moment to come to terms with this.

*Kyle points at the Nameless One*

Kyle: With the curse gone, I think it’s time that you get a name.

*The Nameless One points at himself*

Nameless One: Me?

Kyle: Yes.

Zonbi: You will finally get a name.

Kyle: Zonbi, do you want to choose the name or should I?

Zonbi: I think you have earned that right.

Kyle: Alright, let’s see… How about Sean?

Zonbi: That’s a good one.

Nameless One: Sean, the future king of the undead. I like it.

Kyle: From now on, your name is Sean.

Sean: Thanks, dad.

*Zeth has stopped crying a little bit*

Kyle: Zeth, I think you have a goal you can aspire to. I should still be going to Heaven and as Harmona’s heir, if you become the next Light God, you can come see me. On that note, you should have your mother’s last name. You are Zeth Zensora.

*Zeth finally smiles again*

Zeth: Zeth Zensora the Light God. I like it.

Kyle: *coughs* My time is running out. I am living far beyond my mortal time. I will go to Heaven and finally see my old friends and family from over 150 years ago again. Goodbye, everyone… and thank… you…

*Kyle finally draws his last breath. His life ends with a smile on his face*

*Everyone looks sad and they all stay silent for a moment until Zeth finally speaks*

Zeth: I shouldn’t cry anymore. He did everything for decades to save me from Kazan’s curse. With that accomplished, he can finally rest. And he has given me a goal to aspire to.

*Zeth wipes the tears from his eyes and looks up at the sky again. The clouds have cleared and show a starry night*

*Coming from the background are many native humans of the country. They approach from afar while smiling and holding lit candles*

*At the front of the group are Lorenza and Corban (Author’s Note: The Resistance leaders the heroes met in chapter 272). They all approach the heroes*

Lorenza: We are here to thank you all for helping us to defeat the vampires.

Corban: These candles and a monument to be installed later will be placed here to represent where final victory was achieved.

*Zeth stands up with Sasha helping him stand. They both look up at the sky, smiling*

Zeth: We are so happy to help.

Narrator: Kyle has given his final words to Zeth and even gave the Nameless One a name! Kyle’s life is over but Zeth and his friends will look forward to the future with happiness.
