Chapter 12: Second time dungeon and back home

Soon after lunch we arrived inside the dungeon. Our aim today was room 4 where Maze Moths live. I wanted their [Magic glass] drop pearls to make bullets from them. Aside from bullets, I heard that this [Magic glass] is commonly used for alchemy vials, becouse it keeps the magical power from dispersing, making the unusability longer. Many potion vials are also made from this glass.

„The area 4 is close by so what if we passed it after finishing our job there to look for more suitable oponents? I think that area 20 have some construct-like monsters,“ Kiira said.

„Golems huh? I always wanted to try making one,“ I said.

„Like the one from Prague’s legend* or more like modern depictions?“ Taru asked with a lot of informations on the matter. Goli and Ruzu tilting their heads as they didn’t know what we were talking about. (※ info here)

„Let’s see them first, I will decide after that.“

„Sure~“ Kiira and Taru said all smiles.

I looked at Goli’s and Taru’s statuses.

Where the hell did Taru got Service skill?! Wait… doll making? I’m not gonna ask what shape they are.

Good thing was that their levels got boosted a little.

I couldn’t level up until my Warrior blessing ceremony above level 49. Another good thing was that Kiira, is level 48 now so after today she should be able to level up to level 49 and meet requirements for the ceremony as well.

The darkness of the dungeon spread around us. We were silently walking down the path to room four. Along the way we were attacked by few goblins, but Goli was able to take them down easily.

We got their cores and drop items called [Goblin short horn] by itself it was ingredience used for potions which reinforce bones. Goblins usually have greenish skin, but they have counter parts among demi-humans called Little ogres. Those have pale brown skin, but in the end they look completly same. Acording to Taru their woman have tiny breast, which was unnecessary information for me.

We were hunting moths for about two hours and we collected around five hundread cores and [Magic glass] pearls.

After that we moved through area 17 which was right next to area 4 and through areas eighteen and nineteen we entered area twenty. Of course we were cleaning monsters which came our way.

There, Taru’s holy magic came in clutch as the area 18 and 19 were full of ghost type monsters.

„«Purification»“ Taru shouted spell and five ghost turned into dust.

„Interesting…“ I murmured.

„What is it?“ Kiira peeked from behind me.

„When the undead monsters are purified, their drops change from usual magically killed undead. See?“

I showed the group two cores from same kind of monster in one hand and their drops in other hand.

„I see, the brighter red have more magic and the [Soul shard] drop got smaller from purification, but it’s effectivness got better,“ Taru said excitedly.

„Yep, the one purified by holy magic can be used to create living dolls of higher level then the regular one,“ I confirmed.

„I’m glad I can be of help master,“ Taru bowed a little and gave a smug face to Kiira.

„Well, master, let’s get going before more of them come here. The aim today are the constructs remember?“

We went throught the room and we got to the area twenty.

The weird thing about construct type monsters is that their drops are actually bodyparts. The battles took us about four hours until we collected one complete [Magic doll] and about six complete [Magic doll arms], [Magic arm legs] and two [Magic doll necks] also we got around six hundreads magic cores.

With Goli being level 41 and Taru at level 29, we decided to return bact to exit with Transfer and exit like normal adventurers. Rinana, the Tigerfolk assistant of guildmaster processed our cores and the two were granted Bee yellow badges. On other hand me, Kiira and Ruzu were given Bronze badges.

„I never thought I would get back to bronze rank so soon,“ Ruzu smiled as she clung to the badge in her hands.

„Yeah and after Warriors blessing ceremony we will grow together even stronger and stronger until we reach Adamantite blue rank!“ Kiira answered with broad smile.

„Umu, as long as we continue to strife to get stronger, Adamantite blue rank is not just a dream,“ I added to Kiira’s claim.

"You two sure dream big. But that isn't different from me. So you can count on me with bow and magic."

I nodded at Ruzu and we returned to mansion just before diner.

The next day we set for journey back home. This time we had two carriages. In one was Father with mother, Nina and Ruzu as their guard and I was with Taru, Kiira and Goli alongside Seto and Tifaana. No need to say that Setas and Seto were coachmans of our carriages. The rest of the servants had their own carriage which went before us. That was for the simle reason to prepare rooms in the inn in town we were supposed to stay at.

„When we arrive home, I would like you two to settle in and learn about your duties. In a week, me, Ruzu and Kiira will acompany Nina to her foster father, Frontier count Gal Netrose.“

„So we will not get to see each other?“ Taru hugged my left arm tightly.

„We will after we return, until then I will have you do your work okay?“ I smiled at Taru and patted her head.

„Okaaay~“ Taru smiled happily.

On our way back we visited the town where I got the animal training skill and went right through it to town on borders with our territory, where my swordsmanship teacher, Helbert-sensei lived.

„I don’t belive you are father’s best pupil! Fight me!“ were first words I heard after embarking from carriage.

Talk about cliché!

The boy was level twenty five swordsman with enhancement magic. Still that was nothing to me, who was level fourty nine.

I blocked his three thrusts with minimal effort then tried to faint him, but he didn’t saw through it and I scratched his cheek.

„Okay, that’s enough! Leo wins! You have a lot to learn young man!“ Helbert sensei yelled at his son.

„Taru, could you?“ I asked.

„On it master! «Aqua heal»“ Taru chanted her magic and smiled at the boy.

Our quick bout was finished with the boy’s cheeks turning red. We spent nice evening and the next day we were quick to leave.

„Lord Leo!“ the boy, Gintaro, called me out.

„Yes? What is it?“ I smiled.

„I was thinking… and—“

„—I’m not selling Taru. Not now, not ever.“

Maybe it was my voice or that Intimidation skill kicked in, but the boy moved out while apologizing.

And after those hectic days, we returned home. All in all it took us ten days or as in this world it’s called quadmoon, as that is basic measurement of time. One month is made from four quadmoons and year have ten months making one year last four hundread days.
