Sneaking in(Part 2)

Lan Du entered the virtual training zone and looked down at her arms.A feeling that felt lost was now there.She lifted her arm and clenched her hands.

"The virtual world is amazing, to even replicate this, thank goodness I don't need to fight with a broken arm"Lan Du let out a sigh of relief and smiled.

She then headed south where the senior zone is.That was where the seniors usual stay to relax themselves from training and other tiring activiities.But Lan Du was there for a different reason.That was to earn money, the junior area didn't have a place where she could earn money as it wasn't legal.

After all, they were only 13 and 14.

Lan Du stood in front of the senior zone and wondered how she could get in.She watched as different seniors walked in and out.They all used their bracelet on their arm to scan before entering and leaving.

Lan Du bit her nail as she continued to observe if there are any other securities there.One mistake can cause her big trouble so she had to be careful when observing.

She noticed that there was no guards standing around to check.There was only the system checking their bracelet data.So if she could hide from the system's detection, she would be able to enter.But that was easier said than done, after all, this is an official government technology, sneaking past isn't easy.

Lan Du then placed her hand on her bracelet and attepted to remove it.A panel suddenly popped up in front of her.

[Would you like to remove the bracelet?]

[Yes/No]

Lan Du pressed yes and the bracelet slid off with ease.She then smiled cheekily.

'seems like there are still some flaws'

But she didn't get too happy yet, after all, there might be something else the system checks when the data is scanned like if the character fits the description of the data.

Lan Du stood by the side outside the senior zone gate.Outside the gate was a large grassland with many bushes and trees.She guessed that was just to make the place look better.But the inside, she could see large buildings and structures.

She observed and waited by the side near a bush.She then saw a student walk up, she smiled and prepared herself.The person was a senior that was about to enter, when he saw Lan Du, he was curious but decided to just walk past her.

But the moment he walked pass, a hand came from behind and covered his mouth.He then felt a force push his feet off balance and knocked him down.

"Let out a noise and I break a finger, every time I hear a sound, thats one finger"Lan Du said

The teen nodded his head, not daring to look back.Lan Du dragged him behind a bush and pinned him down with his face towards teh ground.

'to think there were rapists in this academy!'

He wanted to scream and cry but Lan Du's words lingered in his mind.

"Now, removed your bracelet"Lan Du said coldly

The boy was shocked and shook his head, the bracelet included all his information, he cannot give it away to anyone.

Lan Du sneered and grabbed a finger.

"Take it off or I break the fingers one by one slowly"She said

The young man was terrified, why did this person want his bracelet?And why is he so ruthless!The young man was afraid of the pain no less, after all, the virtual reality only guarantees safety, not pain removal.

He could only nod obediently and take of his bracelet.Lan Du held the bracelet and smile.She then chopped down on the back of his neck, knocking him out cold.

She then tossed him over her shoulders and walked towards the gate.

[Please scan your bracelet]

Lan Du held the bracelet up and scanned it.

[Identified]

The gate opened and Lan Du carried the young man over her shoulders as she walked in.When she walked in, a beep was heard.

[Body type identified]

Lan Du let out a sigh of relief, when she heard the beep, she thought she was busted.She was now glad she took the young man with her.If not, she would have been caught.

Lan Du held the bracelet and decided to keep it on herself, there might be more checkpoints within the zone.She continued on with the senior over her shoulder.

Other seniors who saw her were either confused or shocked at what they saw.Its not every day they see an unconscious student being carried by another over their shoulders.

He was being carried like a bag of rice at the moment and it looked comical.Lan Du ignored the gazes and walked around.

It was only after several minutes of walking did she find the place she was searching for.A smile crept onto her delicate face as she stared at the large flashy building in front of her.

She stepped into the building and the inside was flashier than the outside. There was a reception at the front and red carpet everywhere.

The tables behind was packed with people and there were shouts around the whole room.The tables were white and the ceiling was filled with golden chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.There were golden statues of dragons and other beasts placed around the side of the rooms.

Lan Du was astonished by how much there was in this room.She shook her head and walked 

to the reception.

"I'd like to enter"She said

The girl at the reception seems to be a few years older than her.

"um, about the person over your shoulders..."She said

Lan Du turned and slapped the back of the young man then said with a smile

"He was trying to get over his ex dumping him so he had a bit too much drinks, I couldn't just 

leave him there"Lan Du said with a straight face.

The girl was a bit suspicious but this virtual zone was very realistic, it is possible to recreate these features like getting drunk so she believed her.

"Alright, please scan your bracelet"She said

Lan Du nodded and scanned the bracelet of the young man.She took her's off and replaced it with his just to make sure things don't go wrong.

"You may enter now"She said

Lan Du smiled and went in.She then changed the bracelets back as the money will be transferred into the bracelet once she wins a game.

She placed the young man at the side bench so she could go begin.She took a seat at a random table and began playing.

"First time here?"Someone asks

"Yes"Lan Du replied

"Make sure to not lose all your money, this is the type of place where people will lose everything and the academy has no control over"He added

Lan Du nodded

The cards were passed out to three other people.Lan Du took a look and grinned.

"any hits?"The dealer asked

No one said anything

"Stand"He said

When everyone flipped their cards, everyone leaned in to see all of them.But after a few seconds, all gazes were on lan Du's hand.

"Blackjack"Lan Du grinned and said

Everyone else sighed and pushed their bets to Lan Du.The digits were then transferred to her bracelet and the coins on the table disappeared.

'how convenient'

She then stood up and went to another table, it was a bit of an unspoken rule to change tables once you win as staying might bring bad luck or targeting from other players.

She went to another table and sat down.

This time it was dealing with dices, guessing if it was higher or lower.Lan Du laughed in her heart, this was the simplest game of all.

She has always had a sensitive ear since young, it's easy to tell the number of the dice with some training and practices.

The dealer shook the cup and placed it down.

Lan Du placed her bets on lower on the first match.When the cup was opened, the numbers 2, 4, 1 was revealed.It was low.

Lan Du betted fifty thousand on that gamble and won two hundred thousand in return.

'This will be an easy earn.She continued to play at this table since it was a 50/50 luck game.At least that is what others believed so no one payed much attention to her winning.

But after she won a few more times, people felt suspicious.

"This little brother, you have won four times already with no loss"Someone said

Lan Du chuckled

"I have always been quite lucky when I was a kid, I'm just a bit luckier than others"She said

The people didn't seem to believe her

"Since you are so lucky, how about guessing the exact numbers instead"The person said slyly

The others nodded in agreement, it was clear they were now targeting Lan Du.She bit her nail, she just needed one more win a few more games and she would have enough money.She has checked and the medicine needed was five million.

She now has one million, just a few more games and she would have enough.Now was a terrible time to get targeted.

But she smiled and replied

"How can I?I may be lucky but guessing the numbers has so many possibilities"She shook her head and said

The people around her didn't seem to buy it at all and continued to pester her.

"I wonder if there is a security system in here to prevent injuries?"She suddenly asked

The crowd looked at each other

"No, the academy has no control over this place, but it is an unspoken rule to not cause trouble here"Someone said

Lan Du smirked, her hand shot out and grabbed the person who started the pestering by the throat.

"Since there isn't any solid rules, then ripping your throat out should be no problem"She said sadistically.

Her words shocked and frightened many seniors.Who in. their right mind would rip out other people's throats!But Lan Du looked as if she was serious.

"My strength doesn't only lie in luck, otherwise I would be dead long ago, want to see my hobbies?"Lan Du said with a cold smile.

Her every word was serious and chilled.

"n-no sir"The senior said as he shook his head vigorously.

Lan Du released his throat and chuckled

"If you don't have the guts then shut up and keep your head down, in the future, you will be soldiers, not weaklings!If you don't have the power, don't you dare speak up to superiors!But if you do, pummel them down and take their spot, until then, you shall never do this again"Lan Du barked and pushed him aside.

Many seniors stared at her in admiration.Her words will seem harsh to outsiders, but to future soldiers, it was an encouragement and reason to push their limits.It boosted their morals and gave them a strong sense of fighting spirit.

Lan Du smiled

"You all have a lot to learn"She said

Suddenly, many of the seniors bowed and shouted

"Boss!"

Lan Du was shocked and almost fell, what boss?It made her sound like some mafia leader from the underground casinos.

Lan Du waved her hand and said

"What boss?I am weak and deserve no such position, I am not your boss"She said

But the seniors seemed determined

"NO, your words has broadened our views, we have always lacked a goal other than protecting our homes and standings, but you have shown us that there is more in just these"They said

Lan Du was confused

"How?All I asked was for that fool to shut up unless he had the strength to back himself up, isn't that common knowledge?"

"your words may seem like mere insults to you, but to us, it is a reason to push ourselves, a sheep without a head will die immediately, you may be one of the few who can be the head!"They said

Lan Du frowned, there is at least fifty of them and they are all trying to call her boss.What type of bull carp reasoning was that?Giving them a reason?She was just trying to teach a fool his place!

"Please, lead us in the future"They said

Lan Du sighed

"Fine, but I will only do so after a fight with everyone, if anyone beats me, I will not take the position, but if I notice anyone pulling punches, I will break both their legs, only by strength can a true leader be picked"She said coldly

The seniors looked at each others in confusion, shouldn't t be the other way around?Normally it is the crew challenging the leader to prove that the leader is worthy, but she is actually doing it herself!This is just too illogical!

But they didn't deny it, they would have challenged her as well to prove her strength, but they didn't expect her to be so straightforward.
