Chapter 2_3: Blinding Hope

After the battle finished, I whip my sword to clear it from the blood. Then, I sheath it back and swift my gaze toward the girl lying half-naked in front of me. Our eyes don’t meet each other, I don’t really know why and the situation keeps that way until a certain voice pull me back to reality.

“S-Stop staring…” She said that as her face turns red

Ahhh, now I know why our eyes didn’t meet. My eyes were glued to those pair of mountain.

“Ahhh… s-sorry, just that, it was…. beautiful”

I regain my sense back and turn my gaze away.

“W-WHATS BEAUTIFUL, YOU PERVERT!”

She stand up and then slap me while covering her pair of breast but just before the slap connect, I reflectively dodge by moving my head slightly.

“Woaahh”

Even though I dodge the slap, the wind still hits me, breezily.

“Why did you dodge?!”
“Why? Because I can?” I answer her while still looking away from her body since I don’t want to be called a pervert again.
“…”
“Anyway, it’s not safe here so let’s talk somewhere safe. In the meantime wear this, it’s a bit dirty from the fight before.”

I undress my cloak and wear it around her delicate body. She is still looking down, trying to hide her embarrassment from before but I can see her ears are all but red. Not wanting to make her angry again, I decided to ignore it and continue my objectives.

“So, umm, why is a girl aloe in this place? Also, can I know your name?”

I ask her using my deepest sincerity as to avoid making her angry. After a brief time, she looks toward me with glassy eyes. It’s as if I’m the one who assaulted her before in which I don’t, I think.

“I…My n-name is Miyaki Landrantzel, the second daughter of the king and queen”

A short pause ensue then she resumes her introduction.

“Of Landrantzel Kingdom. I escaped from the enemy’s hand by luck and managed to run from the castle to this forest.”

In my mind, a princess should have more dignity as to amaze people with their word but in front of me is a near lifeless princess with signs of excessive crying on her eyes. After hearing her introduction, I knee down to show respect and look down. Now that I think back, am I going to die beheaded for lecherously see her in disgraceful condition? I’m not sure but my duty is to bring this exact person alive back to the base.

“Ahh, Hime-sama. Sorry for my rudeness before, now I shall introduce myself too”

After saying as such, I stand up and pat my knee to clean it from dirt.

“My name is Kazuki Tenrai, I’m one of the search squad dispatched to search for you”
“I see…”

Her shoulder drops and her face shows “Ah, so I’m going to be a bargaining chip” reaction while looking down.

“It’s okay, nothing will happen to you, our objective is to take back the kingdom and rebuild it. I can assure you”

She looks toward me and her eyes dilate.
