The centre Plaza ( Part 3: I am here! )

   “What?!”

Asahi screamed immediately through the microphone in surprise after hearing that name…

“What’s the problem, Asahi?” I asked as I kept jumping from place to place evading the big hammer and the claws that wanted to rip me apart.

“N—Nothing, I just heard a familiar name!” He answered.

“I don’t think that this is the right time to wonder about such things.” Rintaro replied as he punched two enemies away. “…Everyone here is having a hard time here, especially Kazuto, Shinji, and Rin.”

Akira and Rintaro were maybe having an easier time than us but that didn’t mean that they weren’t suffering from fatigue just like the rest of us.

As I evaded the attack of two before me, I turned quickly and aimed my gun on the huge man and fired.

“Your guess is wrong again! These are gauntlets not a machine.” He said as he blocked the shot with his hands.

“Tsk!” I muttered as I blocked the enemy claws with my guns.

Kazuto was focusing on blocking the huge man punches but used that moment to charge forward quickly. His attack didn’t cause any damage to the enemy, but it pushed him away a bit...

He stood in his position to take a breath. He looked very exhausted. Alone, he couldn’t inflict any damage and was having a hard time blocking the man’s punches.

[At this rate he will be defeated.]

“I started using my weapon for a while now!” Rin suddenly said.

“I would’ve been surprised if you said that you haven’t used it yet.”

Rin’s weapon is similar to the one used by Akira. His weapon helps him to travel faster to a specific point using magnetic effect while Rin’s weapon creates a force that opposes any other force that is directed towards her. In other words, Akira's weapon helps him to instantly teleport to another location but in short distances and Rin’s weapon helps her evade any attack directed towards her. Both of them are perfect for assassins…

I didn’t worry too much about Rin or Akira. The enemy won’t catch them easily. The ones that I wanted to help but couldn’t were Kazuto and Rintaro… I was too busy with the two commanders before me. I jumped back quickly as I shot a few normal bullets. Almost all of them didn’t have any effect. The moment they touched the enemies’ bodies they got reflected to the ground leaving only scratches. Immediately I switched weapons and Fired my EMP gun.

The two commanders jumped back immediately to evade.

“So that’s how it is!” I laughed as I threw the normal gun on the ground and pulled my dagger.

They looked at me with surprised faces without saying anything, so I continued talking.

“You guys are using a device to detect EMP!”

“You’re not the only ones that have evolved in 6 years!” The third commander answered as he put his huge hammer on the ground.

“You see… These devices were created by your father!” The other one explained. He looked at me with a crazy smile on his face then continued talking. “Tell me, how does it feel being defeated because of a small device created by your father?!”

I looked at my sword that was thrown on the ground to verify whether it started working again or not. It wasn’t glowing so I understood that I had to wait for more time.

“Master!” Ai called me. “Don’t be deceived by what they say. Mr. Akira already created a prototype for that device before the accident 6 years ago. They simply made a replica of it.”

“I know that they are lying!” I answered with an angry tone.

“But you’re getting angry, I can tell from your heart beats.”

I jumped back to the fight with a smile on my face. “I am just getting a bit excited about this fight.”

I blocked the claws movements before reaching me with the dagger and immediately retreated as I fired my gun. The man with the hammer jumped behind me to smash me but instead I used his hammer to jump again on the second commander…

I looked once more at the whole situation around me. Akira and Rintaro will probably win their side in the next 5 minutes. Rin and Kazuto are getting cornered slowly. As for my sword he started glowing again a bit.

“You hammer is made from iron Isn’t it?” I asked.

He ignored me as he kept waving his giant weapon and charging at me.

Slowly yet surely, I started feeling a bit exhausted. Breathing started to become harder each time I jumped to evade an attack. My moves became a lot slower compared to two minutes ago.

The sun is about to set. Since we were in February, the temperature tends to get a lot lower after dusk. That was another problem we had to think about.

Asahi notified me that the fight near the Ōta ward had just ended with the victory of the first and fifth squad. They were probably heading toward the battlefield outside of the broken dome to help the other squads. They were really lucky since they didn't have any traitor…

The other squads were having a hard time because of Karuizawa. They lost some agents and lost most of their strength because of the enemies’ strategy which made their fight with the enemies last longer than what they were expecting.

My sword finally started glowing once again…

I picked it up quickly and headed straight to the third commander. He tried blocking my attack with his hammer but as a result a part of it was sliced down…

The other didn’t give me the time to rest. My reaction was a bit slower than usual but even so, I managed to break the sharp claws he was using the whole time.

Shortly after that Akira and Rintaro took down two enemies at once. It was only a matter of seconds until they took down another enemy. That was the time when I decided that Rintaro’s help won’t be needed there.

“Let Akira finish the rest by himself, Rintaro! Go help Rin.”

He looked at me silently then started running towards her.

A loud voice echoed in all the plaza suddenly. It was the sound of metal making contact with ground, breaking it. I looked at the direction of the sound to see that the hammer that I just cut in half seconds ago, was simply thrown away…

“You lost all interest in your weapon?” I asked with an arrogant smile on my face.

“That wasn’t my weapon!” He replied as he put his hand in the pocket of his white coat to pull a gun.

[That is not an ordinary gun…]

I looked at the other man to see that he also pulled a set of small knives from his pocket. He looked around him then said: “…Well, that’s true his main weapon isn’t that giant hammer. But mine was really those claws and yet you broke them.”

The situation wasn’t looking any good for me… The third commander’s gun was a mini flamethrower but that wasn’t all what there was to it. When he fired his gun, a small bullet came out of it. I didn't know whether the bullet was made from iron or not. All I was able to notice was that after a certain distance the bullet turned into a flame ball. The bullet was a lot slower than a normal bullet, the thing that made evading it not an impossible task…

Immediately after dodging the bullet, I had to look out for a knife that was already on its way to hit me. A typical old combo yet an annoying one. Since I was getting a bit tired, I couldn’t simply minimize the distance between us. Whenever I try to do that, they simply get away and repeat the same attack pattern.

Rin with the help of Rintaro started to have a bit of free time between the enemies’ attacks to try to counterattack.

Kazuto’s shields were in horrible shape. They were about to break.

As we all kept struggling, Akira suddenly screamed: “Finally!”

He defeated the rest of the enemies on his side. They were two men who used knives. That was a very matchup for him since he was the best at using knives and daggers.

As he ran toward me to help, I told him to join Kazuto and save him. That was the moment when suddenly and out of nowhere, the whole enemies on Rin and Rintaro’s side were defeated together…

A loud voice came out all of a sudden from that direction as I was telling Akira to help Kazuto. Everyone’s attention got attracted to the source of the sound.

Aside from the surprised faces of Rintaro and Rin I saw a familiar figure that was standing behind the enemies who were falling on the ground in slow motion.

“…Shuna!” I shouted happily.

“There’s no reason to struggle anymore my friends because I am here” She winked at Kazuto and Rin as she started walking towards them with a large smile on her face and a machine gun in her hands.

That gun freak sneaked behind the enemies and wiped them out using the EMP machine gun. What a savage way to win. But, winning is all that matters after all!

The second commander looked at the scene with a wide-open jaw: “…That’s impossible!” He looked at me to see a large smile on my face.

“Time for the counterattack!”
