Phone call

Xie Jing sat at the side, her head was leaning on her hands as she sat.Her eyes were glued onto Lan Du and Xie Ying who seemed to be having fun.She patted her cheeks lightly to snap out of her daze.

'Why do I feel uncomfortable?We are always together'She thought to herself

Lan Du turned over and saw her looking at them.She paused and walked over to her along with Xie Ying.

"What is bothering princess Jing I wonder"Lan Du said cheekily

Xie Jing smiled

"I'm wondering if you two will forget this princess"She said

Lan Du realised her thoughts and smiled warmly.She placed a hand on her head and leaned closer.

"Then how about I take the both of you tonight for something fun?"She said teasingly

Xie Jing blushed

"Indecent"She muttered

Lan Du laughed

"There's fireworks tonight so I was thinking about taking you two to look, whats so indecent about it?Could little Jing be thinking of something strange?"Lan Du teased again

Xie Ying by the side giggled, Lan Du is always so cheeky when it comes to words.And because she has almost zero shame, she could pull off all sorts of tricks.

"you..."Xie Jing blushed even more and puffed out her cheeks

Lan Du laughed even more

"How about a meal later?As for desert...I'll have the two of you"Lan Du licked her lips and spoke

Xie Jing and Xie Ying glanced at one another and turned back to Lan Du

"Then...will you be the main course?"They leaned in and asked

Lan Du was stunned, was the twins always so pushy?She smiled

"Oh, I'm afraid thats a problem, after all, I have my deserts before my meal"said Lan Du as she rubbed their heads gently.

She then stepped back and headed back to the group

"You two take a break, I'll go back there to wait"She spoke and left, leaving the two girls blushing

"Sister, I'm sorry"Xie Ying said slowly

Xie Jing shook her head

"Its fine, we are sisters and we will always be together, as long as you never forget it, I will always love you"Xie Jing rugged Xie Ying and said caringly

Xie Ying sniffled but didn't say anything else, she hugged her back silently.The two later sat down and began changing the mood with a conversation.

"Did you know Lan Du was so good at dancing?"

"I had no clue, but it was so emotional, is there really no deeper meaning behind it?"Xie Jing asked

Xie Ying frowned

"I feel...it has something to do with Lan Du's parents, he always seem so distant whenever his father is mentioned"Xie Ying replied

"I feel the same way..."

They turned to see Lan Du standing alone, waiting for the final round to begin.With only 4 pairs left, the heat as rising.

"Number 18, your dance was amazing, where did you learn it?"A pair walked up to Lan Du and asked

Lan Du gave them a glance

"I dance as a hobby, nothing praise worthy"She replied casually

"Really?"The young man chuckled and hugged the girl beside him.She smiled lightly but there was also a trace of nervousness on her face.

Lan Du pretended she didn't see it but deep down, she was going wild.She detested the society which looked down upon women, she hated the nervous looks they have and the lack of will in them.

"The final round shall now begin!The remaining pairs should gather up, this will decide the winner!"The announcer shouted out

Xie Ying ran up to Lan Du but she glanced a few times at Xie Jing as she did so with eyes filled with guilt and worry.

Xie Jing however waved it off and replied with a gentle smile.

"The final round is to show your passion!Whichever pair can gain the most points from the judges will win, the rules are simple, just flirt till the judges are satisfied!"

Lan Du frowned, she glanced at Xie Jing wondering if it was alright to do it, after all, she wanted to give them equal treatment, she didn't want to have favourites.

Xie Jing nodded and gave her a thumbs up as if she was saying "Go for it, this is your specialty is it not?"

Lan Du sighed bitterly, she glanced at Xie Ying and caressed her hair

"Well...shall we begin?"Lan Du smiled

"y-yep"Xie Ying replied

"Let the passions fly!"The announcer called out

Lan Du leaned closer to Xie Ying's face, she placed her hand at the wall behind her and another hand was used to lift her chin up.

"Xie Ying, you and your sister's birthday is coming up, isn't it?"Lan Du whispered into her ears

"Oh, 8 points for number 18"A judge saw Lan Du's approach and called out

Lan Du smiled

"I prepared a birthday gift for the both of you, do you know what it is?"Lan Du asked

Xie Ying shook her head nervously, it wasn't from fright but pure shyness.

"Its..."Lan Du leaned in and gave her a light peck on the cheek.

"So daring!10 points!"Another judge called out

Xie Jing felt a tightness in her chest, but she suppressed it and continued to put up a smile.Lan Du leaned back and Xie Ying almost collapsed from the kiss.

Lan Du reached out her hand to her, when Xie Ying slowly held her hand, Lan Du pulled her into an embrace and patted her head.

"Your sister isn't feeling well right now, we need to finish this as fast as possible, otherwise she might have a scar in her heart"Lan Du whispered quietly

Xie Ying glanced over and sa Xie Jing's forced smile, she felt a bitterness rise.

"Lan Du...please finish it quickly"She said, hoping Lan DU can get back to her sister as fast as possible

Lan Du nodded

She took out a candy and unwrapped it, she then half placed it in her mouth, leaving half of it out.

"say ahh"Lan Du said

The judges and competitors all paused and leaned closer to watch

Xie Ying blushed, she was so nervous she didn't know how to react.Lan Du was actually using this trick!But she was too shy to take it.

Lan Du smiled and leaned closer in, when she leaned back out, a piece of candy was in Xie Ying's mouth, the judges and announcer all had their eyes wide open.

"100 points!"The announcer shouted out, despite the fact that he couldn't give points, he still shouted it out without care.

Even the other competitors gave up after seeing that.But Xie Ying was the most shock, not because of the candy, but the way Lan Du did it.

Lan Du had a second candy at hand, when she lifted her chin, she placed a candy in her mouth while swollowing the one she had in her mouth!

"Does it mean I win?"Lan Du turned and asked

"y-yes, the other pairs merely hugged and spoke honey words, yet you...you're a daring lad, 

you win"The announcer said

Lan Du smiled

"Lets go back now"She said

"Wait, you still need to take a photo with your partner"The announcer said

Lan Du glanced at Xie Jing

"I want her to join as well"She stated

The announcer glanced over at Xie Jing and back at Lan Du

"this...fine"He gave in and said

Lan Du smiled brightly, she turned to Xie Jing and walked up to her slowly.

"My little pumpkin, shall we go take a photo together?"Lan Du held out her hand and said lightly.Xie Jing who was in a trance snapped out and held Lan Du's hand.Lan Du pulled her in and gave her a quick peck on the cheeks before pulling her by the hand.

"Lets not keep your sister waiting"Lan Du said quickly

Xie Jing smiled to herself and followed along, her heart was thumping faster than it was ever before.She felt warmth rise up in her as she followed closely behind Lan Du.

Lan Du stood with Xie Ying and Xie Jing as the photographer readied them.After taking a few photos, Lan Du picked a few to take along before leaving the place.

"Xie Jing, never push yourself again, you both are important to me, if you do what you did today...I will need tp punish you"Lan Du pinched her nose gently and smiled.

"mn, let go"Xie Jing nudged her and said shyly

Lan Du laughed

"a-about before...d-did you k-kiss her on the lips"Xie Jing muttered

Lan Du and Xie Ying looked at one another before laughing

"Sis, I didn't notice before but you're cuter than me, Lan Du is just good at fooling the eyes and mind, he didn't actually kiss me"Xie Ying laughed

Xie Jing blushed

"Then the candy in your mouth"

Lan Du smiled and moved her hand quickly, a candy then appeared in Xie Jings mouth without her notice.

"eh"She felt a sweetness run through her mouth and realised that Lan Du somehow plopped a candy in her mouth without her notice.

"H-how did you do it?"She quickly asked

Lan Du placed a finger on her lips and smiled

"A magician never reveals his tricks, otherwise, whats the point of it?"Lan Du chuckled and rubbed both their heads lightly

Xie Ying and Xie Jing blushed, even after so many times, they still could not get used to Lan Du's teasing.Lan Du found them two to be more adorable by the day, she would never get bored of teasing them.

"Its now getting late, you two should get back to the dorm before its too dark, I'll buy some more food before leaving"Lan Du bid them farewell and went to buy all sorts of food.

She also bought some drinks along the way and headed back to the medicine shop she purchased not too long ago.She entered the room with bags at hand and looked around.

"Lass, if you don't come out soon, I'll leave with the food"She said and prepared to turn around

A figure ran out from behind the door and grabbed her

"No, I'm starving, how can you leave a cute girl like me to starve"She wimpered

Lan Du smiled

"Because you're not cute enough"She replied carelessly

"You!At least I'm cuter than y-"She wanted to say she was cuter than Lan Du, but after taking a closer look, she realised that Lan Du is prettier than girls, she swollowed her words back down and grabbed the food.

"Why did it take so long to return"She quickly changed the subject and asked

"I went on a date, it wasn't bad, though it was more tiring than expected"Lan Du replied casually

"A date?hm, and after you stole my first kiss as well"Hui Yue munched on the food and spokeLan Du grabbed her by the cheeks

"Lady, you would have taken more than just my first kiss if I didn't stop you in time, be glad I didn't report you to the police"Lan Du said coldly

Hui Yue chuckled, not minding Lan Du's cold tone.

"You're much more mature than others your age, wanna tell me your story?"She took more food and asked

Lan Du shook her head

"No point"She said

Then, her phone began to ring

"Who is it, calling me this late"Lan Du picked up the phone and answered

"Who is it, I'm busy"Lan Du said arrogantly

[Can't I call my daughter if I feel like it?]A voice spoke from the other side with gentleness

Lan Du almost dropped the phone when she heard the voice, she grit her teeth and smashed her hand onto the table.

"How did you get my number"She said in a threatening tone

Hui Yue who was still eating was shocked by her sudden change

[haha, I just asked the hospital to give me your contacts, I will find you one day]

Lan Du scoffed

"After leaving me for 12 years, you finally think its a good idea to start looking for me?Let me tell you old man, when you do find me, it is either I can end your life or I'm dead"Lan Du said coldly

Yuan Min on the other side was speechless

[Don't be so dramatic, I'm your father]

"I have no father"Lan Du replied without hesitation

[Why are you doing this to yourself]He asked sorrowfully

Lan Du clicked her tongue

"I am doing nothing to myself, it was you who did it"Lan Du hung up and smashed her phone onto the ground.

"Damn bastard, I need to get a new phone and change my contacts"Lan Du spat coldlyHui Yue listened slowly

"Lan Du, was that your dad?"She asked curiously

Lan Du shook her head

"I don't have a father"She replied

Hui Yue bit the bottom of her lips

"You shouldn't be so harsh on your family members, I don't know what has troubled you, but sometimes this hatred can break you"She said calmly

Lan Du began laughing

"You know nothing"She said and stood up

She placed down a few more bags and headed for the door

"There's some tablets and laptops for you too fool around with while I'm gone, never bring up today's event again"Lan Du closed the door and left.

Hui Yue sighed helplessly and shook her head.Somewhere far away, someone else also let out a deep sigh, he held a phone in his hand and tried to redial a number.

[Sorry, the number you are calling is unavailable, would you like to send a message?]

He smiled wryly and covered his eyes

"Knowing her, she must have snapped that phone or smashed it already, *sigh* why does she have to be so difficult?"A drop of tear rolled down the side of his face as he leaned against the wall.

'My daughter, I will find you one day'

Ming Yuan limped to the bed and laid down.He closed the lights before his mind drifted off into a dream.
