The Adventure Begins (2)

I practically never left my house a while ago, and today I am in a dark cave that must be full of unknown monsters.

As I entered the cave, I had an initial anxiety, because I had never entered a cave in my life. But, I knew that Sheele was not going to send me into something that she knew would be dangerous. That place, unlike what was outside, had a darker aspect to it. Also, as I entered the place the darker it got.

It was getting so dark that I thought I would have to go back and make a torch (although I had never made one either). But as I entered a grotto in the cave, I slipped and fell into what appeared to be some sort of... moat ?

I was not feeling any pain, fortunately, because if I had hurt my leg or something like that, I would be in a lot of trouble. As I stood up, I noticed that I had goo around me, and when I looked at it I thought it was some kind of pollution made by some adventurer or something. But it wasn't that, it was a living being ? My shirt was all greasy with this goo... that's when I realized what was all around me...

Thousands of... slimes ?! They were all around me, surrounding me, and there were many, many of them. By the way, when I fell, I ended up crushing one of their friends, and now they didn't look happy at all. I noticed that some of these slimes, they were very close to my leg, and they seemed to be trying to immobilize me.

More and more slimes were immobilizing me and attaching themselves to me, and no matter how hard I struggled or how hard I punched, it was no use, they have a jelly like texture, and always when I punched them my arm would just go through.

In rpg games or in an isekai anime, no matter which one, slimes were always the weakest monsters, those kinds of monsters that even with a little starting equipment, it would be easy to defeat them. But here I am, I'm about to be choked alive by a bunch of slimes... haha how humiliating...

They kept sticking to my body, and I was almost accepting my fate, when I remembered Nill. So, it was my last chance to live, I gathered all my nill in my left arm, which by the way, was my arm that was still free of the slimes. And I started punching and tearing those slimes off my body.

I couldn't kill them, but at least I could push them away from me. Then I ran to the wall of that pit and with the help of the grass growing on that wall, I managed to escape from there.

I was very tired, but, it was there that I realized how important learning to use Nill was, if it wasn't for Sheele, I might have died right now.

When I looked outside the cave, it was already night, so I decided to get some rest. I'm a little hungry, but I don't know, what monsters might appear out there during the night, besides, I'm very tired.

Starting tomorrow, I will find a way to kill these slimes. Surely, the villages and towns should teach you how to kill these slimes easily, but I have chosen to learn alone, so this will be my responsibility.
