Chapter 7:

New arrangements.

Hang in There Mister Guard!

The next morning Ikeda-san came to work early as always so he could get the keys from the night guards, however something was off, as he entered the mall some of the night guards were already leaving, curious of why that was happening he approached to ask them.

“Ah, Ikeda-san, good morning!”

“Good morning, what is happening, why are you guys leaving already?”

“Well, Morita-san came and said that he was going to get the keys from now onwards, he didn’t tell you? Well maybe he forgot about it; you know how he is.”

Shocked by this he rushed into the mall and into the security room, once he got there he found Ryoichi already inside.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning, why was I not informed that you are going to be the one receiving the keys now?”

“Well, I thought about calling you to inform you, but it was going to be pretty obvious once you arrived.”

He took a seat on one of the nearby chairs and looked down to the floor, still processing what just happened. He was thinking that he could sleep at least another half-hour if Ryoichi told him beforehand, but he didn’t find the words to speak.

“By the way, I handed your proposition from yesterday to management, they said they will look into it and give us a response as soon as they have it.”

“That is good to know.” He replied, still mad about the situation.

“However, making the arrangements as you suggested might not be so effective.”

“Why?” Asked, lifting his face.

What he saw was a sight he thought he would never see in his life. Morita Ryoichi, a man known because of his lost sight and calm face, was looking at him with an angry expression on his face. He looked intimidating, so much so that Ikeda couldn’t look him in the eyes, so he lowered himself and looked to the floor once again.

“Because two people don’t change places at all in your plan, so that alone beats the purpose of the rotation.”

And having said that he left the room.
