Chapter 8:

A Hero.

Hang in There Mister Guard!

After the staff were inform that the changes in positioning would not take place until management decided it was convenient, everyone felt relieved, they were happy because the area where you are assigned to look after tends to become important for you, in a certain way, they feel part of the environment, part of that specific area of the shopping mall.

I personally think they are overblowing it, but ok.

One of the guards approached him during the day, while Ryoichi was making his rounds.

“Hey, Morita-san, good morning.”

“Good morning.” Answered him in his common lazy voice.

“Hey, thank you for not letting the changes happen so suddenly, you surely are a hero for me.”

“It’s nothing.”

“I’ll treat you to something, what do you want? Coffee, beer? Just tell me.”

“No thanks, I’m fine.”

“Come on, just say it, that's the least I can do.”

“No thanks, I’m fine.” Replied slower than previously.

“Don’t be shy, ask for anything, it’s fine.”

“No thanks, I’m fine.” Have you ever pressed anything very slowly to be sure that you pressed everything correctly? Well, that is exactly how he replied, making sure that every word was clear.

Then he returned his way, however, it wasn’t the end of it. This man was determined to buy him a drink and wasn’t going to give up that easily, I don’t know why but ok.

So he asked someone if they could go to the security room while Ryoichi were on his lunch time to see what kind of drink he likes, so he could buy it one; they accepted and said that he would buy Ryoichi one of those drinks too, he also wanted to show some gratitude for his intervention, so he asked someone else, then that someone else asked someone else and so on and so on until the 15 guards agreed to buy Ryoichi a drink.
