Chapter 2:

Introduction

Luminar(ON HOLD)

A day before Timothy's arrival

Urielle stood with a serious expression, gazing intently at what appeared to be a holographic screen.

"Still scrutinizing his details, feeling uncertain?" Seraphine asked.

"No, it's not that. I just know he's the one," Urielle said, worry lacing her voice. "Anyway, is everything ready?"

"Yep, car crash," came the response.

Urielle sighed and shook her head, "It's sad, but it is what it is."

"Don't forget, what goes around comes around," she added, laughter touching her words.

Present day

"Wow, what is this place?" I surveyed the room in astonishment.

"Welcome! This is the afterlife... well, not exactly the afterlife, but a place where you can relive and make different choices in life," Urielle declared.

"Seraphine, would you kindly escort Timothy to the table in the middle?"

As I was led towards the table, I marveled at the modern yet enchanting beauty of this unfamiliar place.

I sat down, pleasantly surprised by the exceptional comfort of the chair. After a few moments, I asked, "So this is the afterlife, but not exactly the afterlife, right?"

"No, not exactly. Only select souls are granted access to this domain," Urielle explained. "To be more precise, we choose who enters here.",  "Oh, I've been quite impolite; I haven't introduced myself yet. I am Urielle, Guardian and Examiner of this domain, and this is my assistant and sister, Seraphine,". Urielle said with a grin, "She's not one for smiling, you see."

Seraphine fixed her gaze on her sister, her expression stern and unamused.

"Alright... so, why am I here?" I inquired.

"As I mentioned earlier, this is a domain where second chances are granted," Urielle responded.

"Strangely, I can remember what happened. Usually, this sort of thing only takes place in novels."

"Indeed," Urielle agreed. "The first order of business is to inform you about where you'll be going for your second chance."

Urielle signaled to Seraphine, who then conjured a massive holographic display.

On the screen appeared all my details from earth and another set of details with an unfamiliar earth and a series of inscriptions beneath it.

Seraphine gestured at the display and explained, "What you see here contains information about your life on Earth as well as the world to which we'll be sending you to. It's not all the information, but It's enough to understand it"

Urielle added, "The world is named Luminar. It's what you humans would refer to as a... oh, that's right, a fantasy world."

"It's a world teeming with magic, extraordinary creatures, and diverse races. We've crafted quite an enchanting world," Urielle shared, her enthusiasm evident.

As Seraphine and Urielle explained everything simultaneously, my brain struggled to process their words.

Thoughts like, "This can't be happening," "Is this actually real?", “Magic?”, “creatures??”and "So, God does exist?" flooded my mind (I wasn't particularly religious, but witnessing something to an afterlife left me stunned).

I glanced at both Seraphine and Urielle and simply said, "I need some water."

"Huh?" Urielle reacted. "Oh, water? Just extend your arms, think of a portal, and imagine water."

Baffled, I stretched out my arm, envisioning a portal and water.

To my astonishment, a small purple-black portal materialized, and my arm vanished into it.

I felt a handle, and as I pulled my arm back out, my eyes widened in disbelief. It was genuinely a cup of water, leaving me utterly amazed.
With a few seconds passed, I quickly returned back to realization.

"So, my second life will take place in that world, Luminar?" I asked, indicating the screen.

"That's right, but before we send you there, Seraphine, is everything prepared?"

Seraphine completed her task and stepped back, instructing me to call out the name Elyssia.

"Elyssia," I announced.

Nothing occurred, so I repeated the name several times. Seraphine hastily interjected, "Quiet down, she'll come; just be patient."

A few minutes passed.

A brilliant, small light emerged before me, and Seraphine smiled, saying, "Oh, she's here."

I shielded my eyes with my arms, retreating from the light's intensity.

Then, POOF!

I saw a diminutive being fluttering around, beaming. She darted directly toward Seraphine and Urielle.

"Seraphine!" Elyssia exclaimed with enthusiasm.
"Elyssia!" Seraphine replied with equal excitement.

As the tiny, fairy-like creature conversed animatedly with both Seraphine and Urielle, I stood there perplexed, particularly by Seraphine's uncharacteristic chattiness.

Feeling somewhat ignored, I spoke up, "Uh, hello?" and waved at all three of them.
"Hello."

Urielle faced me, introducing Elyssia and later explaining that Elyssia would become a part of my inner thoughts.

Elyssia possesses wisdom and knowledge, she pretty much knows everything and she’ll actually be a very good guide on my journey. She’s also an invaluable asset. I can simply say the word 'screen,' and she will swiftly generate a display

"Alright, now that introductions are done, shall we proceed?" Urielle spoke

Urielle glanced at me and instructed, "Say 'screen"

"Alright, screen," I complied.

Elyssia acknowledged with an "Okay," and a small holographic screen materialized.

Urielle explained, "What you see on your screen are the details of your identity in Luminar. You have the option to modify or add information if you'd like."

I marveled at the display, examining every aspect of my new identity, and then I turned my attention to the abilities section.

Incredulously, I exclaimed, "WHAT THE HECK?!"
"Is this accurate? This can't be right; these abilities are way too powerful!"

"Well, yes," Urielle responded, "I decided to provide you with every ability I could think of. However, I'm also giving you the choice to alter or add to the information."

At the same time, Seraphine appeared doubtful and, gesturing towards Urielle, whispered softly, "Are you certain?" Her concern was evident in her question.

"Yes. I'm certain. Please trust in him" Urielle responded

Unaware of the situation, Timothy was engrossed in his holographic screen.

I tinkered with my data and finalized all the details.

The Holographic screen:

Taming Beasts: Sovereign's Will allows its users to subdue or control wild creatures, forcing them to submit to the user's authority. This can be useful for calming aggressive animals or even recruiting them as allies in combat.

Clash of Wills: When two users of Sovereign's Will face off, their opposing wills clash in a visible display of power, creating shockwaves that can affect the surrounding environment. The outcome of this clash depends on the strength and resolve of the users involved. A weaker user may be overwhelmed, while a stalemate could lead to a continued battle of wills.

Advanced Manifestation: In rare cases, a highly skilled user of Sovereign's Will may be able to channel their willpower into powerful energy attacks or create protective barriers. This advanced level of control requires intense focus and a deep understanding of one's own will.

"Is everything finished and ready to go?" Urielle inquired.

"Yes, all set," I replied.

Urielle signaled to Seraphine.

"Alright, Elyssia, it's time," Seraphine announced.
"Aww, okay," Elyssia responded, her face falling.

Before Elyssia vanished into my thoughts, she quickly asked, "Has he come back yet?"

I looked at both Seraphine and Urielle, noticing their expressions change upon hearing Elyssia's question. Their faces showed a mix of sadness and concern, but they both tried to reassure her.

"Not yet, but don't worry," Urielle said, her smile seeming somewhat forced. Seraphine chimed in, attempting to maintain a smile, "Yeah, don't worry."

Elyssia replied with a broad grin, waving as she said, "Ok, bye! See you soon."

Elyssia then disappeared, becoming a part of me, though she remained inactive.

Seraphine faced me and quickly mentioned before sending me away,

"Elyssia will activate automatically once you get there. Call her, and she'll provide you with all information about Luminar."

I acknowledged her words with a nod, and Seraphine conjured a ring under me, causing me to vanish in an instant.

Only moments after Timothy's departure

With a serious expression, Seraphine faced her sister and said, "I truly hope you made the right choice."

As she said that, at the same time the room gradually began to disintegrate, its previous tranquil state was replaced with a scene of chaos. The once small and well-lit room with walls that shimmered was now coming apart at the seams. The plush white carpet that had graced the floor began to fray and unravel.

The wooden table, adorned with fresh flowers, started to splinter and crack, its once-sturdy structure weakening. The cozy chairs surrounding it tumbled and collapsed. The once-sparkling crystal chandelier swayed dangerously, hanging precariously from the ceiling.

The bookshelf, once filled with classic and modern literature, now spilled its contents onto the disintegrating floor. The window that had provided a view of a beautiful garden shattered, the lovely scene outside replaced by a chaotic whirlwind.

As the soothing background music distorted and faded.

Urielle gently sank to the ground. "I'm certain, sister," she uttered, coughing.

Seraphine bent down to support Urielle. "Why, just why, has this happened? We should have told him the truth and seen if he would save us."

"We can't do that. If we tell him, he'll find out," Urielle replied, continuing to cough.

The once radiant Urielle was gradually losing her powers, her luminous aura fading away. Her formerly magnificent dress was now tattered.

"He'll save us, I know it" Urielle expressed, grasping for a sense of joy
