Chapter 5:

StarRone Stadium

The Price For Fame

Sakura awakened, her mind and body completely replenished with flowing vitality.

She ambled up to her hanging calendar decorated with stickers of kittens and sakura blossoms; she uncapped a marker and ripped off yesterday's calendar date, displaying the present date, 27th May, illustrated with drawing markers of confetti and cake.

No, it wasn't her birthday.

Today was the StarRone Stadium Performance, to which Sakura was invited by a panel of judges interested in Sakura as she had become a trend.

Sakura reviewed her extensive wardrobe, glimpsing for the excellent dress or outfits; some were her aged cosplay uniforms for primary school events. Why did she still have that?

She noticed a pink dress glistening with little golden stars and glittery embroidery. A note was attached to the collar; Sakura carried it out and laid it on her bed.

The note read:

Dear Sakura,

Happy 12th Birthday, May all your dreams, aspirations and wishes come true, and may you be blessed for this day and year. We hope to see you after the holidays, and always keep this dress to wear at special events! Everyone will be blown away! I stitched it myself; we put much love and hard work into it!

From Eli and your besties.

Designer/Maker of Dress: Eli -------- Concept: Midori ------- Drawing and Measurements: Sakiko

Sakura's eyes dilated, and a smallish tear bore her eye; she swabbed it away with her sleeve, mourning her vanity and mania.

She decided to wear the gown, and as she put it on, she thought about how her best friends were sewing, sprinting around and allocating duties.

Sakura embraced her mother and father, laughing as her bratty little sister shrieked about not having chocolate for breakfast.

She strolled out, her satchel in her hand, overlooking and pushing her way through the hustling people, keen to see one glance of Sakura.

Sakura pushed the people away as she entered the coach.

"One ticket, please." Sakura asked the coach driver, who grinned and welcomed her.

"Where to, miss?" requested the driver, peeking around and tinkering with her stockpile of tickets.

"StarRone Stadium in Welsher." Sakura replied, trying not to eye the lady who was astounded.

"Dear me! You visiting the StarRone Stadium! Haha! No wonder why yer dressed up all flowery and posh! This old bus ain't going anywhere fancy like 'hat girl! You gotta go to the nearest bus, which is in Berliham." The lady chuckled and patted her bus, waving goodbye as Sakura departed.

Sakura hastened to the station.

She entered the bus, acquired her ticket and sat on the seat with relief.

She glimpsed out of the window, snoozing slightly....

Until..... BEEEP!

The Bus Has Arrived In Welsher, Please All Passengers With Welsher Tickets, Depart Now. Thank You For Travelling With Us.

Sakura rushed off, sprinting to the stadium, kindled with lights and multicoloured shafts; her heel came off as she ran staggering, up and down and sideways!

She felt like a character in a video game.

But just as she bumbled again, a mass of people with signatures scooted towards her, swooping her in with them, heading for the stadium; Sakura was held elevated as people held her high; she smiled fakely, as if she was the newborn celebrity.

A pair of covetous eyes were gazing from a building, their cantaloupe eyes now sizzling

"You will regret this."
