Chapter 577: To Begin Exploring Hell

Beyond The Stars

Narrator: Almost half a year passes. It is now March 7th, Year 175.

*Sasha is in Hell and stands on a cliff edge overlooking a lot of the region. She looks up at the sky*

Sasha: So this is my homeland… It’s been a long time.

*Sasha notices a demon town in the distance*

Sasha: Interesting… Not many demons of Hell like to live in civilized areas. Time to check it out.

*Sasha jumps off the cliff and starts falling down toward the ground below. She lands on the ground and then starts dashing at a very fast speed in the direction of the town*

Sasha: (Thinking) Hopefully they will be friendly enough. Maybe I can find out some interesting places to explore.

*Sasha stops dashing when she reaches the entrance of the town. From there, she begins to walk as enters the town. The town is relatively small with not too many buildings. There are humanoid demons walking about*

Sasha: This is a pretty small town. I guess I shouldn’t expect more from probably violent demons.

*Sasha starts walking around the town. The demons carry on about their usual business and don’t pay any attention to her*

*As Sasha walks, she spots a bar*

Sasha: A bar, huh? Probably a good place to talk to people.

*Sasha walks into the bar and looks at all of the demons sitting around, having a good time. She walks up to the counter and sits on a chair next to a red-skinned female devil demon*

*A gray-skinned male goblin demon is the bartender and comes up to Sasha*

Bartender: What will it be?

Sasha: This is my first time here. What do you have?

Bartender: Let me—

*The bartender is interrupted by the devil demon sitting next to Sasha*

Female Devil Demon: Get her a Red Blood Delight.

*Sasha looks at the demon*

Sasha: Is that stuff good?

Female Devil Demon: Yeah, that stuff is real good. The best alcohol here in my opinion. It’s what I’m drinking right now.

*Sasha then looks at the bartender*

Sasha: All right, then I would like a glass of that, please.

Bartender: All right. Coming right up.

*Sasha looks at the devil demon*

Sasha: So, what’s your name?

Female Devil Demon: My name is Matista. You must be Sasha.

*Sasha looks surprised*

Sasha: How did you know that?

*Matista drinks her alcohol*

Matista: I’d recognize those eyes anywhere.

*Sasha looks at her curiously*

Sasha: I guess your ordinary demon doesn’t have Dark Divine Eyes.

Matista: That’s not what I meant.

*The bartender returns with a glass of Red Blood Delight for Sasha*

Bartender: Here you go, ma’am.

Sasha: Thank you.

*Sasha looks back at Matista*

Sasha: So, what did you mean then?

*Sasha drinks some of her alcohol*

Matista: You may recognize the name, Salina.

Sasha: Yes, she was my caretaker when I was a little girl as well as my friend and assistant now.

Matista: Well, she was once my best friend.

*Sasha looks surprised*

Sasha: Really!? Well, I guess you are both devil demons so maybe it’s not that surprising.

*Matista drinks some of her alcohol*

Matista: Yeah, we started losing contact over the years but we’re not on bad terms or anything.

*Sasha drinks some of her alcohol*

Sasha: So that explains your connection to Salina, but how have you seen me?

*Matista drinks some of her alcohol*

Matista: There was one time after she became your caretaker that I hung out with her. It was there that I watched you sadistically torture and murder random demons. As a demon myself, it was terrifying seeing a 4-year-old girl doing that. My mind sees that sadistic look even looking into your eyes now.

*Sasha looks a little sad and drinks from her glass of alcohol*

Matista: But…

*Sasha then looks at her again*

Matista: You also look like you have matured. You don’t look as if you’d randomly just start torturing and killing anyone just for the fun of it.

*They both drink more of their alcohol*

Sasha: Thanks.

Matista: You had a hand in killing the Dark Goddess so you’re probably stronger than any demon currently in Hell.

*Matista chuckles*

Matista: Just make sure to spare the rest of us, okay?

*Sasha giggles a bit*

Sasha: Don’t worry. I’m not going to turn Hell into some massive torture chamber.

Matista: So, what brings you here anyway?

Sasha: Well, I decided I wanted to explore Hell now that the conflict is finally over. Do you know any interesting places I can go to?

*Matista chuckles again*

Matista: Well, what could be interesting to one person could be dull and stupid to another.

Sasha: That’s fine. There’s nothing really specific I’m trying to get out of this.

*Matista puts her hand up to her chin and thinks*

Matista: Probably what I would consider the most interesting because nobody has ever successfully explored the inside of it, is an ancient structure near the Forest Terror. It’s a complete mystery what that place is for. It’s got a bell on the top of it so if you see that, you will know you have found the right place.

Sasha: I see. I will keep that place in mind.

Matista: Out to the west of the Forrest Terror, you can find “The Grave of Rot”. It’s the ruins of a species of demon that the Dark Goddess exterminated.

Sasha: Why did she do that?

Matista: Who knows? For all I know, Dakame would exterminate anyone she didn’t like. Her rulership was hard to like. She never could successfully mobilize all the demons of Hell.

*Both of them start drinking from their glass of alcohol again*

Matista: Here, let me get you another glass. It’s on me.

Sasha: Thanks.

*Matista signals to the bartender*

Matista: We would both like another glass of Red Blood Delight.

Bartender: Coming right up!

Narrator: Sasha and Matista spent a couple of hours talking.

*After all the drinking, they both look drunk*

Sasha: I- I- I better g- get gooooooing.

Matista: A- A- All right. H- Have a goooooood niiiight.

*Sasha starts walking but she quickly loses her balance and falls to the floor*
