Chapter 576: The Visit After A Long Time

Narrator: That night.

*In Heaven, Zeth and Sasha are sleeping in the same bed with only the covers hiding their nudeness. However, Sasha is not able to fall asleep so she just stares at the ceiling*

*Sasha pictures her stepparents in her mind. She then continues looking at the ceiling and whispers out loud*

Sasha: I wonder if they’re even still alive.

*This wakes Zeth up and he looks at her with sleepy eyes*

Zeth: What is it, Sasha?

Sasha: This is something that’s been on my mind since I saw you with your stepdad today. This isn’t something I’ve ever talked to you about before because I had no cares left for them but I’ve started thinking about my stepparents.

Zeth: Why’s that?

Sasha: I guess with the war over, there is no longer a need to focus on the conflict with Hell anymore. Then there’s everyone talking about what’s next and finally seeing you happy being with your stepdad…

*Sasha pauses and Zeth just looks at her*

Sasha: …I want some closure with my stepparents…

Zeth: What kind of closure are you looking for?

Sasha: I still remember the good times I had with them. As strange as this is to say, I kind of want to see them again. I want them to accept me for who I am. But I also don’t know if they’re even still alive. They would be in their 90s at this point.

Zeth: Well, let’s see what we can find out tomorrow. If they’re still alive, we will find them.

Sasha: Thanks, Zeth. I love you.

Zeth: I love you too. Now, get some sleep. You need the rest.

Sasha: Right. Okay, goodnight.

*They close their eyes and go back to sleep*

Narrator: The next day.

*Zeth and Sasha meet with Harmona in an outdoor area of Heaven*

Harmona: You want to know if your stepparents are still alive?

Sasha: Yes, I do.

Harmona: All right, let’s take a look at the registry and see if they have gone to Heaven. Follow me.

*Zeth and Sasha follow Harmona into a nearby building. From there, they walk through a hallway until they reach a big set of doors*

Harmona: This is it. Neither of you has had a reason to enter this place before. This place is necessary for any high-ranking officials of Heaven.

*Harmona opens one of the large doors and then all three of them enter. The room looks like a massive library with shelves of books everywhere. Zeth and Sasha start glancing all over the room as they take in the full scope of its size*

Zeth: Whoa! This is like an enormous library!

*Harmona laughs*

Harmona: I guess you could say that. We keep our registry here so we have all the names of every person who has gone to Heaven. Now, what are the names of your stepparents?

Sasha: Maria Bara and Louis Bara.

Zeth: Would it be in one of these books?

Harmona: We actually keep our registry in a computer system now so we don’t need to find it in a book.

*They walk up to a large computer. Harmona starts typing the names into the computer. After a moment, the search finishes, but there is no match*

Zeth: No match?

Harmona: That would indicate that they are either still alive or they went to Hell.

Sasha: The latter seems unlikely. They were devout followers of you. If by chance they never moved, then they live in a small town in southeast Harmone called Greenville.

Harmona: Well, let’s find out. If you want to meet them, then I will make that happen.

Sasha: Thank you.

Narrator: They found out that Sasha’s stepparents still live in the same town. A meeting was arranged with “Zeth, the son of the Light Goddess, and a woman that they know named Sasha”.

*Zeth and Sasha arrive in town with some angels. The angels surround the house to make sure no one else comes through, and Zeth and Sasha walk up to the front door and knock*

*Sasha looks nervous. Zeth looks at her*

Zeth: It will be okay.

*An elderly couple answers the door. The man has short gray hair and a bushy gray mustache. He is wearing glasses. The woman has shoulder-length gray hair.

Narrator: Maria Bara – Age 96. Louis Bara – Age 97.

*Maria and Louis are in awe at Zeth and don’t even notice Sasha. They start to bow*

*Zeth becomes angered*

Zeth: Don’t you even dare bow to me! This visit is not about me! This is about her!

*Zeth points at Sasha*

*Sasha still looks nervous*

Zeth: How could you forsake your own stepdaughter!?

*Maria and Louis take a closer look at Sasha and are shocked*

Maria: It really is you!?

Louis: But how!? You still look so young!?

*Zeth is still angry*

Zeth: Divine Beings do not age and look at that, despite being the “devil’s spawn” as you called her, she did not get executed by the Light Goddess. In fact, she is my girlfriend and we are in a loving relationship.

*Maria and Louis are shocked by all that. They look at Zeth and then at Sasha*

*Sasha still looks nervous*

Maria: Zeth and Sasha…

Louis: Together…?

Zeth: Do you want to know something else? Sasha gave her all in the war against Hell. You should be thankful to her. We couldn’t have won the war without her help.

*Maria and Louis are stunned*

Sasha: Mom… Dad…

*Maria and Louis look at her*

Sasha: You’re probably wondering why I came back after all this time… Even though you completely disowned me and said harsh things to me, I still remember the good times I had with you. I… I wanted closure. I didn’t want it to end like that. I want the chance to patch up my connection with you. I want you to accept me for who I am and not hate me for it. Being the daughter of the Dark Goddess was how I was born and I can’t change that. But I have accepted that fact and have moved forward trying to be the best person I can possibly be. So I please ask that you also accept me for it. A person’s quality is not in their blood or lineage, but in how they are raised. That is what I have learned.

*Maria and Louis have their eyes wide open after listening to Sasha’s words. They suddenly have flashbacks to how good Sasha was when she was in their family*

Maria: Sasha… What have we done…?

Louis: We jumped the gun… We blindly hated something that we did not understand.

Zeth: That’s right. She did nothing wrong.

*Maria and Louis start to cry*

Maria: I’m so sorry, Sasha!

Louis: And so am I! I feel so horrible for kicking you out and saying those awful things!

*Sasha starts crying too*

Sasha: I just want to be loved by you again!

*Sasha goes up to them and they all hug while crying*

*Zeth looks at them and smiles*

Zeth: (Thinking) This is turning out as well as I hoped it would.

Narrator: A few hours later. Sasha told them everything she’s been through.

*They are sitting in the living room of the house, just relaxing and talking*

Maria: You’ve really been through a lot.

Louis: A lot of hardships but it turns out a lot of good came from it too.

Sasha: That is true. Had you not kicked me out, I never would have met Zeth and that meeting changed my entire life.

Maria: I never imagined I would ever say this but I look forward to being able to worship the Dark Goddess too once you become the new one.

*Sasha smiles*

Sasha: Thanks, Mom.

Maria: Louis and I probably don’t have much longer to live but I’m happy that we got to welcome you back, Sasha.

Louis: So am I.

Sasha: I’m happy too. I can now move forward without any more regrets from my time before meeting Zeth. I think it’s time we get going.

Maria: Okay, I wish you two have a happy life together. And come back and visit anytime, okay?

*Sasha nods while smiling*

Sasha: I will.

*Zeth and Sasha get up off the couch and go to the front door. They open it as Sasha and her stepparents happily look back at each other*

Narrator: Sasha was able to rekindle her bond with her stepparents and can now happily move forward knowing they love her again.
