Chapter 585: The Volcano Demon

Narrator: Zeth, Sasha, Herbigon, and Dusk have just learned the fate of the demons that once resided in what is now known as the Grave of Rot!

*The vision has ended and Dusk looks frustrated*

Dusk: What a horrible tyrant! Killing everyone just for living their lives!

Sasha: Dusk...

*Dusk looks at Zeth and Sasha*

Dusk: I can’t thank you two enough for killing Dakame. I also thank you for bringing me here. I am indebted to the two of you.

Sasha: It’s okay. You don’t need to do anything for us.

Zeth: Yeah. We did what we needed to.

*Dusk gets on one knee and bows to them*

Dusk: Regardless, I want to be a follower.

*Sasha smiles*

Sasha: Well, if that is your decision. Then so be it.

Herbie: That’s all fine and all but I think we should leave now. This old chamber isn’t a place I like being in.

*Zeth looks at Herbie and jokes*

Zeth: What, do you need sunlight to grow just like plants?

*Herbie sighs*

Herbie: Please no plant-based jokes. I already get it enough from this sad guy right here.

*They leave the underground chamber and are back above ground*

*Dusk looks around*

Dusk: Seeing this makes me feel pain.

Zeth: Are you all right?

Dusk: I’m fine. I… just need to leave here.

Sasha: Okay, let’s get out of here.

*They begin walking and start heading to the edge of the ruins. As they walk, Dusk has a flashback to his past when he was just a child*

*Dusk is with his mother going through a rocky area of Hell*

Narrator: Dusk – Age 8.

Narrator: Dusk’s Mother – Nachtuh.

Dusk: Mother, why are we always going to different places? Can’t we just live in one spot?

Nachtuh: No, my dear son. Staying in one spot with just the two of us could be dangerous.

*Dusk looks down*

Dusk: Okay…

*They continue walking*

*Dusk’s flashback ends*

Dusk: (Thinking) Perhaps this horrible tragedy is why she had us keep moving…

Herbie: Hell to Dusk! Are you listening?

*Dusk is alerted and looks up and sees the other three looking at him*

Dusk: Huh!?

Herbie: You were spacing out. Are you sure you’re okay?

Dusk: Yes, I am okay. I was just thinking back.

Sasha: Well, we’re going back up the cliff.

Dusk: All right.

Sasha: I’m not summoning my remaining Hell Vultures for this so let’s get climbing.

*They start climbing up the cliff. Once they reach the top of the cliff, they notice something in the distance. It is Hell’s volcano. Lava is flowing out of it and some of it is bursting upwards into the air*

Zeth: That volcano is quite active right now.

Herbie: It’s been active a lot lately.

Dusk: And that’s been the case ever since Dakame was defeated.

Zeth: What? Is there some volcano demon that’s been throwing a party for Dakame’s defeat?

Sasha: Only way to know is to check it out so let’s go check it out.

Zeth: Agreed.

Herbie: Sure. Just… keep me away from the lava itself. Us plant-based demons don’t do well with that kind of stuff.

Dusk: Being your follower, I will definitely go.

*In a close-up view of the volcano, there is a female demon standing at the top of it*

Narrator: Magma Demon of Hell’s Volcano – Lavana.

*Lavana’s skin has cracks in it throughout her body. Her upper back-length hair glows like lava. Her iris color is red. She wears a red colored kimono*

*Lavana looks super excited and holds her arms out wide*

Lavana: I love doing this!! Dakame’s death is the best thing to ever happen to me!!

*The lava flowing out of the volcano has no effect on Lavana. She jumps into the volcano and starts swimming in the lava. She even dives further down in it and continues swimming around. When she resurfaces, she spits out some lava and then lays on her back as, apparently, she has good buoyancy in the lava. She looks very happy as she lies on the top layer of lava without a care in the world*

Lavana: This is the life…

Narrator: With their business at the Grave of Rot finished, the group turns their attention to the active volcano. Just what is with Lavana?
