Chapter 617: Foreboding

Author's Note: This is the beginning of the 22nd overall arc in Beyond The Stars. This first chapter of the arc is pretty short but that is okay. After all, The Martian Inquisition arc postings were very long.

Chapter 617: Foreboding

Narrator: It is the night of December 6th, Year 14,197. The same year Zeth and Sasha returned from Mars.

*Zeth is walking through an outdoor area of Heaven. However, he notices that everyone is missing. He grits his teeth as he continues walking*

Zeth: Where did everyone go? Why is Heaven empty?

*He looks around at various locations trying to find anyone but he finds nothing. Heaven has become entirely empty*

*Zeth looks worried*

Zeth: What the hell is going on!? Where is everyone!? Someone! Anyone! Say something!!

*Soon, Zeth notices something flying in the sky and soon it lands on the ground in front of him. It’s Bennu*

*Zeth is shocked*

Zeth: Bennu!? What!? No way! You’re dead! We killed you! You can’t possibly still be alive!

*Bennu makes a creepy noise*

Zeth: How did you get here!? Did you take everyone into the abyss!?

*A red magic string comes out from Bennu’s abyss and attaches to Zeth. He is in shock and feels fear*

Zeth: No! Don’t take me into the abyss!

*Suddenly, something comes out of Bennu’s abyss. It’s Korobu which shocks Zeth even more*

*Korobu smirks*

Korobu: It’s been such a long time, Zeth.

Zeth: Korobu!? How are you alive!? I killed you!! I’m even more sure of your demise than I am of Bennu’s!!

Korobu: Hmhmhmhm. I’m just full of surprises. Why don’t you come join me in the abyss? There’s nothing better in the universe than the abyss. You’re really missing out. Come, Zeth. Come into the abyss. Join us! We will all be one under the Abyss Deity!

*Bennu starts pulling Zeth into the abyss*

Zeth: No! I refuse!! No!! Noooo!!!!

*Bennu then pulls Zeth completely into the abyss*

*Zeth then wakes up in his bed and sits up screaming*

Zeth: Nooo!!

*Zeth looks terrified and starts breathing heavily. He looks around his room and calms down*

Zeth: It was just a nightmare…

*Sasha is sleeping with him and she wakes up from his screaming. She rubs her eyes*

Sasha: What’s wrong?

Zeth: I had a bad nightmare. It wasn’t some childish nightmare either. It was bad… Really bad.

Sasha: What happened in it?

Zeth: I was completely alone in Heaven. Like, everyone was gone. I was the only one left in the entirety of Heaven. As I shouted for anyone else that could possibly still be around, something flew down in front of me and that thing turned out to be Bennu. Bennu caught me again just like on Mars and then Korobu came out of Bennu’s abyss. Korobu told me to join him in the abyss and then I was pulled in. I have never had a nightmare anywhere close to being as terrifying as being pulled into the abyss.

Sasha: That does sound awful.

Zeth: Korobu and Bennu are both dead… so why am I being haunted by them in my nightmares? Why can I not shake this horrible feeling I have?

*Zeth takes a deep breath*

Zeth: I need to see him…

Sasha: Who is “him”?

Zeth: I need to go to Hell and see Korobu. I need to know how the abyss all connects together.

Sasha: That’s a good idea. Since he was a mortal, he should have been a soul sent to Hell upon death. Let’s do it first thing in the morning.

Zeth: Right. I need to try to get as much sleep as I can.

*They both close their eyes and go back to sleep*

Narrator: The next day. December 7th.

*Zeth and Sasha go to Hell. They stand at the massive prison where the souls of dead mortals that are sent to Hell stay*

Narrator: With Zeth’s foreboding feeling, he and Sasha take a trip to Hell to talk to Korobu. What will they find out?
