Chapter 4:

Chapter 4

School Days

"Sawyer, tell us about the occult club," Ursula said to Sawyer on Thursday.

Nina was back from her grandma's neighborhood and was in the physics classroom right now because the physics teacher wanted to see her. Sawyer sighed.

"Can't we just close this topic?," Sawyer asked.

"It's just begun," Mabel said.

"No, I actually think that, too. Me and Sawyer were beaten to a pulp and you guys have started digging into this once again!," Bruce said.

"Look, I don't want to do this at all because this is a matter which only the occult club should be involved in. But, since Principal Mallard has asked us to join in on this, we're trying to work things out here. If you can't help us with this, then we'll just have to ask some other club members," Amy said.

"What do you want to know?," Sawyer asked.

Amy quickly took out a notebook to write things down.

"Tell us why do you play the Ouija board, first and foremost?," Ursula asked.

"No, you're wasting time that way. Don't ask questions to which we already know  the answers," Mabel said.

"So, why do they play that board?!," Ursula asked.

"They're in the occult club!," Mabel said.

"Okay, okay. Calm down. I'll talk to him," Amy said.

"Sawyer, who's the occult club's president?," Amy asked.

"It's Jimmy Kreuger," he said.

"Who's that? I've never heard his name," Ursula asked.

"He's in his last year of high school. He's quite popular with the girls who are in his classes," Bruce answered.

"So, he's one year older than us. Where can we find him?," Mabel asked.

"He works at a Hindu temple as a temple boy," Sawyer said.

"Oh, that's interesting. Though, where is the Hindu temple?," Ursula asked.

"It's on the road right after street 1, which leads to the next town," Nina said, as she ran towards them.

They were sitting in the local park right now. She was out of breath. She wore a yellow half sleeved button down shirt with a black waist belt and blue shorts.

"You heard that?!," Ursula asked.

"You're being too loud," Nina answered.

"Shoot! Gotta keep our voices low," Mabel said.

"It's really far away," Amy said, continuing their conversation.

"Yeah, that's true. Plus, we don't even know if visitors are allowed there," Mabel said.

"No, I'm pretty sure visitors are allowed," Nina said.

"But, there's got to be someone who can guide us there. Otherwise we'll get lost because Jubilee is so big," Ursula said.

"I can take you there," someone said as the person walked towards them.

All of them froze thinking about the fact that someone had listened to them talking about this topic. She had dark brown eyes and long black hair, with tanned skin. She wore a dark blue crop top with black shorts. She was a bit taller than Ursula, who looked the shortest among the five girls present there.

"Who are you?," Amy asked.

"I'm Ria Hannan. Nice to meet you," she answered.

"Nice to meet you, too. You're really pretty," Amy said.

"Thank you. You too," she said.

"So, you're saying that you live really close to the temple?," Mabel asked.

Ria nodded.

"I live on street 1, and the temple is visible from my room's window," she said.

"Street 1 is right next to street 2, the street I live on. You should come see me sometime," Nina said, smiling.

"Yeah, why not? I'd love to!," Ria said.

"What? We just met her and, Nina, you're trusting her this much?! And you're supposed to be my best friend," Ursula quickly said.

"What are you whining about? Are you a kid?!," Ria said to her, angry.

"Who are you to say that to me? You just showed up out of the blue and you're trying to steal my best friend!," Ursula said.

"No one's stealing your best friend, shortie," she said.

"Seems like your sister is a really jealous person, Sawyer," she quickly said, looking at Sawyer.

He nodded and rolled his eyes.

"I'm not trusting you with this. Get lost!," Ursula said.

"What?! Ursula, what are you saying? We need Ria for this!," Amy said.

"We don't need her for anything! No one ever asked her to talk in the first place. She just barged in on us for no reason at all!," Ursula said.

"Fine. Whatever you say," Ria said and quietly left the park, sulking.

"Are you out of your mind?!," Mabel said, when Ria had left.

"How the hell could you do that?! She was just trying to help us," Nina said.

"Yeah, sis. She just wanted to help us with this and you just had to go on and destroy everything for us!," Sawyer said.

"She was stealing you away from me, Nina! You're my best friend," Ursula said, looking at Nina.

"Why are you so jealous over everything?! Can't you just keep your emotions to yourself for a bit? I want to throw you in that fountain behind us so bad right now but you're so short you're gonna drown in the water in no time, Ursula!" Mabel said.

"Guys, stop!," Amy yelled. The girls looked down in anger.

"I'm sorry I dragged you all into this. It's my fault. I'm sorry. Please forgive me!," Amy said.

Mabel's eyes widened.

"You can go home. I'll try to go to the Hindu temple myself. Don't worry about this anymore," Amy said.

"Bye. Take care," she said as she left the park.
