Chapter 1:

The accident

Love's Fragile Pulse

My name is Hiroshi Yamamoto, I am a 2nd Year student of Kinoshita High. Although my grades aren't high, they aren't low to make me fail my classes. My life is pretty average, not much always happens. It's basically the same events everyday, wake-up, go to school, come back home and I feel like I'm forgetting something.

"Hiroshi could you help me lift these boxes?"

I looked back and saw the gym teacher with a lot of boxes.

"Yes Sir"

I always help teachers with most of their works, but I'm not a pushover. All the teachers here are nice and friendly, except when you don't do the homework assigned especially the Maths teacher Mr. Arata, he's really scary when you don't do his homework. Really scary.

The other students aren't that bad too, I really do feel like I'm forgetting something important. Oh we're here, the school indoor court.

"Thanks Hiroshi, you were a big help."

"It wasn't a big deal sir, by the way what are in these boxes?"

"They are equipment for our next PE class"

"Oh, what will we be doing?"

"Dodgeball."

"Again?"

"Hm? Did you have something else in mind?"

"Oh not really." Nervous laugh

"Haha, I was just kidding" Slaps Hiroshi's back "Have a good weekend Hiroshi!"

"Thank you sir!"

As I walked out the door, I heard two familiar voices shout out my name.

"Yo, Hiroshi"

"You haven't gone home yet?"

When I turned back, I saw my two best friends, walking with their uniform all dirty and messy.

"Oh, Karu and Nick. Sup?"

"We just got done cleaning the storage room downstairs, thanks to Karu" Nick said.

"Hey, wasn't it you that caused the ruckus?" Karu replied.

"Huh? Now you're blaming me? Can you believe him Hiroshi?"

"I'm not even here" I said while backing-up.

"Hey, don't you wanna know what happened?" Nick yelled.

"No thank you" I replied while walking down the hallway.

It's always best to stay away from the trouble they make, because if I don't I'll also be absorbed in. "Oh, it's already late. I gotta get home now!"

"Wait up Hiro!" Karu exclaimed. "Were you really going to go without us?"

"Well, you guys were arguing and-"

"Doesn't mean you should ditch us!" Karu yelled

"Sorry, where's Nick?"

"Oh a teacher called him, he said he'll meet us at the sweets shop"

"Oh okay, let's go then"

When we were walking home, there wasn't much happening honestly, we met with Nick and the next thing I remember was seeing a girl run to the road to get her ball and there was an upcoming car and without thinking I jumped in to save her. After that all I saw was black, I could hear sirens blaring, my mom crying, the wheel on the stretcher, people and... and... I can't remember. The only thought I had was "Am I going to die?"

When I woke up, I was on a hospital bed. The blinds of the window was closed, and there was a flower in a vase with some handwriting on it, it was too far for me to pick up any of the words written on it. Just as I was looking around, the door opened.

"Hiroshi! You're awake" My mom said teary eyed. She ran to me and hugged me while she was crying.

"Mom.."

Turns out I was in a coma for 3 months due to the an accident. People came running in when they found out I was awake, family members I've never seen before, people from my parents workplace too, teachers and even some unfamiliar faces.

Among all the faces, one caught my eye. A girl with brown long beautiful hair and pretty black eyes was standing in the corner when her parents came she seemed teary eyed and left the room, I tried to follow her but my mom and the nurse said I shouldn't move about much because they are worried, and like that I wasn't able to talk to her.

I was discharged from the hospital a week later and life felt normal and boring again, but the girl I saw... her face, eyes and hair features are still engraved in my mind, I have a feeling she's someone important, but right now I just want to know her name.
