Abrupt ending for a chance encounter

With the words she last said, she is gone.

The room that was filled earlier with short but nevertheless, still a conversation is now empty aside from me. The ramen had turned soggy and cold, with no one to consume them. That's when the thought of it hit me once again.

"Now that I'm here by myself once again, should I end it now?" I asked myself.

That's when a sudden realization came over me, which led to my final decision for that question.

"I'm already tired from everything, I should just go to sleep and think it over again tomorrow."

As I was trying to put everything away so I can finally lay down on my bed, I received a sudden message from my phone in the middle of the night.

I grabbed it and look as to who messaged me this late.

"Oh, it's just Mom," I remarked.

I opened the message and read it.

"Hey there! I forgot to tell you, but your Dad had accidentally made a promise to an old associate. Apparently, you are set on an arranged marriage when he got drunk in one of their meetings. I already gave my piece of mind to your dad but would you be able to at least entertain a meeting with this lady? It's not like you're tied up in a relationship right now so it might be an opportunity to meet someone you'll like. Sorry to message you this late at night. Stay safe and just know that we are always here for you if you need any help."

The message is full of absurdity, that I did not know how to respond to it. For the entire evening, I couldn't fall asleep, afraid that I'll be reminded of the nightmare-ish experience I'd had back when I was a freshman in college.
