[Intermission: Quaint Announcement]

Hi everybody :) If you're reading this, thanks for just being here. It's been a hectic past few weeks for a lot of us, but unfortunately, I just don't have the time to balance everything. 

If you weren't already aware, there's another MAL x Honeyfeed contest that's currently ongoing and that I've decided to participate in. Consequently, there's just no time to squeeze in Government-Issued Girlfriend chapters into the usual bi-weekly schedule. The contest novel—Dominion's Paradise—is pumping out several chapters a week which is taking up all of my free writing time. So I had to make the tough decision to put GiG on temporary hiatus until further notice. Apologies towards those that have been keeping up with the story this whole time. 

I'm honestly not sure when GiG will resume in full. Though, while I'm here I might as well take the initiative to announce the fact I've also been heavily editing many of GiG's older chapters, for polish and grammar fixes that deadlines from the previous contest didn't really allot me. For those who haven't read any of Volume One's chapters starting from May 1st 2023, there should be new GiG content to enjoy. 

Specifically, chapters 1-12, 21, and 25 have all been revamped, several of whom include extended scenes, new jokes, and new tidbits of lore. I plan to finish editing all the other older chapters as well, but I'll make another announcement whenever that's completed :]

Also, for those who are just fans of my writing in general, I humbly ask you to consider reading my other novel, Dominion's Paradise. It's the novel Daichi and Asagiri from Government-Issued Girlfriend are both huge fans of, so it's something I've sort of brought to life even though Dominion's Paradise is technically an older idea than GiG. If you're a fan of romance, isekai, action stories, or just curious about why Nishikata likes the dang story so much, Dominion's Paradise is waiting for you <3

So even while GiG is on break, there should still be extra content of mine to read in the downtime, between Dominion's Paradise and the updated GiG chapters. Sorry again for the hiatus of chapters, but I appreciate every reader here and I hope to see you all again when GiG eventually resumes.
