A Silent Routine

Every lunch time, the girl leaves class and enters right before the start of the next class. In the moments Sora decides to take a walk during lunch, not once did Sora find her. Not outside in the school yards, nor in the corridors, nor in the classes he has passed.

Since the door is right behind her, she is always the first to leave class. Entering the café, every time Sora is welcomed by her sitting in the corner, either reading a manga, checking his phone or doing his homework. For 2 weeks they would sit in the same seat, 3 tables away from each other. Together in the café until closing hours as the last two customers. 

Together in the same place but are alone. Alone but the same silence. The same silence but different worlds. 

At the end of the week Sora first noticed the girl the girl finally looked at him as he was moving towards his seat. Their eyes met, each wearing headphones and an expressionless face. While her dreamy purple eyes indulges itself with wonders of different fantasy worlds, her stare shows a void of interest in the real world. 

Wonder if she realizes I'm her classmate.

Every day however, he also realizes that, though they might be the last two customers, she is truly the last customer. Each time Sora takes a peek back while he exits the shop the girl would sometime simply be reading manga or watching her phone. That means the owner isn't letting her stay a while longer to the her homework. And I doubt the owner is constantly ignoring her. Then maybe she's a family member of  his.

Once in a while when Sora looks over to this classmate of his and she is reading a manga, Sora would recognize the manga she was reading. One was a newly published mystery title. He was certain of it, because he has the first volume back home. One was a slice of life, comedy, family series. He has not read this one but still recognized the cover. And one was, based on the cover, assumed by Sora to be a romance.
