[Chapter 17 Start]

I was left with nothing but despair. I was just getting attached to Aoi. But then they took her away too.

 I didn’t believe what Saika said. But deep down. I knew it too.

 

“What Ifs?" were all over in my mind.

As I started thinking more about it. I started crying. Cried and cried. For god knows how long.
The next day was school. I did go. Just for a little possibility, "What if she was lying?"

A part of me wanted to go back, Go to school and everything like before. Like nothing ever happened. Aoi, Chako, Ayame, and Me. All having the best time.

But it’s all empty. The classroom was quiet. Everyone was doing their work. No one looked at me, no one cared as I ignored them.

Chako, Ayame. Both looked at me. They both looked like they cried. I went to them and sat down quietly. None of us was talking. It was awkward.

As it was getting more and more awkward. Chako broke it down by saying:

“We heard the news about Saika. When I first saw her, I didn’t know she was like this. I wonder what happened to her for her to turn out like this.”

“I wonder too. She was perfectly alright when we were friends. It all happened after she left for America. It seems that’s the reason she turned out like this.” I said with a gloomy expression.

“Well, we can’t dwell on the past too much. Like everyone else, we should move on too.” Chako said.

“I can’t handle this! You too are talking like nothing happened! What is wrong with you!” Ayame said while she was in tears.

She ran away.
