Chapter 6

Yasuho quickly walked to the left side of the arena as Keice went to the right, both stopping at opposite ends of the arena.

A voice blared on the intercom. “This is an interesting match here folks! The challenger Yasuho Mizah is to fight the examiner Keice!”

Keice began covering himself in frost, while forming ice spears around him.

‘A fight? Oh no.’ Yasuho thought ‘I doubt I can even put up a fight against him at this moment-‘

“Begin!” The voice broke into her thoughts before she could even think of forfeiting

‘I guess I’ve got no choice…’ Yasuho thought.

Acting quickly, she dodged Keice’s early attack and used her Creation magic to make the one thing she could use in a fight.

Her flaming sword.

As she reached out for her sword, the all familiar feeling of burning in her arm returned. Keice launched a flurry of spears as Yasuho grabbed her sword.

Most of the spears melted before reaching her, and those that reached barely scraped her.

‘Is he not trying his hardest? I may have a chance after all!’

Yasuho ran at Keice, melting and deflecting the spears he threw at her. Yasuho reached him and stopped her blade right before Keice’s neck.

Keice raised his arms, signaling defeat.

“Good job Yasuho! That was a great fight, I think you’ve earned that license from that! By the way, what’s with your arm?”

Yasuho looked down at her arm, which was a unholy mess of red and black.

“Oh right, this sword burns my arm while using it. I make sure to use it in moderation!” She replied, now wincing because of the pain.

“Well, let’s get you that license and get you to the hospital!”
