Chapter 7:
Saishuu-tekina Mirai
Yasuho returned from the hospital after a few hours, there was no permanent damage but the doctor had urged her to use a normal weapon or learn to create a non-flaming sword. Yasuho saw no reason for this, as her burns never got too bad, but she had become interested in the idea of making a sword that didn’t burn her.
‘I think if I found a way to keep the flames away from the hilt, it could keep the flames from burning up my arm.’ Yasuho pondered to herself. As she opened the door to the Adventurer’s Guild, she was greeted by a ton of loud voices.
“Congratulations!” The people screamed, clearly eager to see her again. She was crowded from all sides like a celebrity without any bodyguards. Keice stepped onto of the desk “Quiet everyone!” The guild fell as silent as it was before.
“Yasuho here has become the newest adventurer in our guild and will now be ready to work alongside us!”
The crowd erupted into cheer again.
After the crowd calmed down and the room fell quiet, Keice cleared his throat and continued.
“Now, I hope this isn’t too sudden, but you got your first job Miss Yasuho!”
“Already? I just left the hospital?” Yasuho replied, wondering how she already had a job in the hours she was recovering.
“I know, it’s very sudden. But, it’s a fairly easy mission! We just need you to go check on this group in the neighbouring town, we’ve been getting requests to do something about them, so why not send you?”
“Alright, I’ll go see what’s going on.”
“Thank you! You’re a real life saver!”
“Alright, where do I go to get there?”
“You walk! Obviously. It’s only a 2 or 3 hour long walk.”
Yasuho had already regretted accepting this job, but sighed and sulked out of the Guild with her stuff, and began her journey.
