Chapter 12:

The Cool One

Becoming the Principal of Isekai School

Perhaps that was the longest sigh Eiji had ever made. That morning the principal walked down the school hall, which was decorated with fire marks, cracks in the walls, broken windows, and holes in the ceiling. Last night he woke up to see crazy chaos, and Anneth instructed him to run away from Kyoko.

He wanted to save the budget, but this happened instead.

"Forgive me." Anneth, who was walking behind her superior, could only look down. "I have no excuses."

Beside that witch, Kyoko massaged her forehead. Her face was deathly pale from the hangover. "Don't blame Anneth, sir. I should have asked first whether the drink contained alcohol or not."

"You are a kunoichi, Kyoko." Eiji stood at the front of the classroom, finding Jon collecting debris from the shattered wooden desks and chairs. "Didn't you often drink with your target? How can you get drunk with half a glass of wine?"

"I always drink an antidote potion before doing my duty." The kunoichi covered her mouth to keep from vomiting, then sighed. "Please, I know the damage done by her is enormous. But without her doing that, worse things could happen. Believe me, back when I first got drunk, I did really crazy things."

Anneth formed the word 'thank you' with her mouth without a sound. Kyoko answered with 'no problem,' also with only lip movements.

"This is indeed unfortunate." Sienna came to them carrying a notebook. "But I think we have to move on and learn from this."

"Yeah, you're right, Sienna." Eiji received that notebook, which is a record of existing damages. He then looked at Kyoko and Anneth. "But please, from now on, be careful."

Getting angry won't solve anything. After all, no one was really at fault in this incident.

"Of course, sir." The two women slightly bowed.

He knows he is dealing with people who have extraordinary abilities. But he would go crazy if he kept encountering things like this.

"Kyoko, go back to your room to rest." Eiji gave an order. "Anneth, please come with me to my office. I want to consult with you regarding our new teacher candidate."

The witch bowed again. "With pleasure, sir."

"Just like this?" Anneth reads the profile of humanoid beings with pointed ears on Eiji's tablet. "Nothing else?"

[Rae Sharis]

[An expert in firearms and bows, son of an elven noble family, loves hunting, playing musical instruments, and parties]

"Yeah. Usually, there's a description of their previous job, accomplishments, and a little story about their life." The principal leaned his back against his work chair. "There are some others who also have the ability to use firearms and bows, but they all have profile records that…. Well, not suitable for the teaching profession."

Some of those worlds already have the technology to make firearms, but some still use bows and arrows. Eiji can equip his school's alumni with guns when doing an adventure to the realm that doesn't have them. But how do the former students get ammo and make repairs? Teach them more about firearms?

If there is too much material to study, the students will be less focused on learning the most essential things: fighting and surviving.

"Should we summon him or find a new candidate?" Eiji asked.

"Well, can't you return them if…" Anneth stopped her words because she realized something.

"It seems our principal doesn't have the heart to return the candidate, especially if they really want to teach here." Sienna's lips curved into a smile.

Yes, it would be easier for Eiji if the candidate had no intention of working here and was unqualified at the same time.

"Well, I've also said something like this to Kyoko." Anneth smiled too. "I'm a monster, but already a teacher. I'm sure anyone can become a teacher as long as they have the will."

Eiji tapped his fingers in thought for a moment. "In that case, I'm asking for your help if this candidate doesn't have the qualifications yet."

"I would love to do that." The witch nodded.

That is one of the reasons why Eiji chose Anneth, the experienced teacher.

"Okay, then." The principal took a breath. He did this kind of summoning of candidates twice, but it was still heartwrenching for him.

Everything went as usual. A ball of light appeared and turned into a vortex. This time, a towering male elf came out of the portal. Seeing that man's exotic pale skin, silver-colored long hair, and well-proportioned body, Eiji felt he would attract women's attention.

But upon checking on Sienna next to him, the principal found a perfectly normal smile, likewise with Anneth. The witch looked more curious than fascinated.

They weren't interested in this elf's physique.

While the elf scanned the room with narrowed eyes, Sienna greeted him, "Welcome to…."

"So, are you going to give me a job here!?" Suddenly the elf shrieked, full of excitement. His voice was shrill, in stark contrast to his cool appearance. "I will carry out my duties to the best of my ability!!!"

Eiji and his two subordinates were taken aback by that shocking behavior.

"Okay." Eiji cleared his throat, checking the profile on his tablet. "Mr. Rae Sharis. First of all, welcome to our school…."

"School!?" Rae almost jumped when he heard that. "What job are you going to give me!? Looking after the horses? Looking after the library? Well, even I will do my best as a janitor!"

Eiji cleared his throat a second time. "We would like to recruit you as a teacher in shooting and archery."

"Ah…." The elf's tone dropped quite a bit, but after that, he returned to how he was before. "Well, I don't mean to be arrogant, but no one can beat me in those two areas! I've been hunting for a long time and always get results! So, what should I do to get that job!?"

"Before that, I want to ask one thing." Eiji sensed something was off in Rae's expression but couldn't point it out. "You just came to this place but already expected us to give you a job. How did you know that we're recruiting?"

"Ah, that is an uninteresting story, sir!" Rae laughed out loud. "You better tell me the conditions so I can work here immediately!"

"Well, fine if that's what you want. I'm not going to make you talk about it." Eiji put a sheet of paper and a pen on the table. "I'd like you to make a curriculum of what you're going to teach, please."

"Curriculum?" The elf scratched his hair. "What's that?"
