Chapter 645: Crystals and Vines

Narrator: Back with Pearl in her battle against Wally.

Wally’s voice echoes around the room. “How dare you! By letting those other rats escape this room, you have gained my utmost irritation!”

Pearl smirks as she states, “Good. That’s how I know I’m doing what I need to do.”

Wally replies back in irritation and his voice echoes around the room. “I’ll wipe that smirk off of your face!”

Many vines start trying to slam into Pearl but she jumps out of the way to avoid them. During her jump, more vines extend out from the floor in an attempt to restrain her. However, crystals also start extending out from the floor and they push the vines out of the way which allows Pearl to safely land on the floor.

Pearl shouts, “Crystal Scythe!”

The crystals on the floor start rapidly spinning around Pearl and slash any vines that are close to them. As that happens, vines start extending out from the ceiling in an attempt to slam into Pearl. This time, they are successful and whip Pearl, damaging her. Though, they are quickly cut by her Crystal Scythe attack after the hit. As the scythe attack comes to an end, more vines from around the room start slamming into Pearl, dealing her much more damage. Before any more vines can hit her, she jumps again and extends more crystals out from the floor to pierce the vines trying to attack her. However. She soon gets overwhelmed by the number of vines and is hit back to the floor where the vines there begin to restrain her.

Wally’s voice echoes around the room in amusement. “Face it! You can’t handle this power by yourself. You will be torn apart! Hehehehe!”

Multiple crystals quickly emerge out from the floor around Pearl and cut through the vines, freeing her. Then, another large crystal comes out from the floor. Pearl jumps and puts one hand and both feet against the side of the crystal. She is attached to the crystal just by touching it.

Pearl remarks, “I promise that I will find your real body and destroy you.”

Wally’s voice echoes around the room in amusement. “You have done nothing to prove that. You just keep dodging and attacking my vines. Even if you can keep it up, you will become warn out eventually, allowing me to deliver a painful kill. Hehehehe!”

Pearl shouts, “The only reason you can keep this up is because of that light source that keeps reviving your vines!”

Wally’s voice echoes around the room. “And so what if that is true? It certainly provides a great help. With this light, I am basically invincible! Hehehehe!”

Pearl mumbles to herself, “We’ll see about that…”

Multiple crystals start emerging from the walls and Pearl starts leaping from one crystal to another which leads her to reach near the ceiling of the room.

Wally’s voice echoes around the room. “I don’t know what you are about to do but I won’t let you do it!”

Many vines begin trying to slam into Pearl but she jumps and attaches herself to a new crystal that emerges out from the ceiling of the room. All of the vines miss their first attack but they immediately try to hit her again.

Pearl yells, “Take this! Crystal Shattering Barrage!”

The crystal drops from the ceiling with Pearl still attached to it. She charges her magic while the crystal is still in the process of falling. Pearl screams with power as the crystal nears the floor. “Hyeeeeeeeeeeeehhhh!!”

Once the crystal hits the ground, it shatters into thousands of small pieces that fly out in every direction. The crystal fragments tear through any vines they hit.

Wally’s voice echoes around the room in a scream of pain. “Gaaaahh!! How dare you!! You actually hit me!!”

Blood starts dripping onto the floor by Pearl’s feet. Her attack not only damaged Wally, but she also suffered numerous wounds from the crystal fragments as well.

She breathes heavily as she thinks to herself. (“I got him. That proves his real body is connected to the vines if there was any doubt left. Unfortunately, I ended up wounding myself in the process. But this means I can win using one of my ultimate attacks, Crystal Sanctum. That attack leaves me exhausted so it better finish him off or I may not have enough energy left in the tank to fight him any further.”)

Within his own magic, Wally thinks to himself. (“I can’t lose. Prince Grant’s light makes my magic nearly unstoppable. He even assured me himself. Remember it…”)

Wally begins reflecting on his past.

Narrator: About 40,000 years ago.

In Flora World’s Heaven, Grant confronts Wally.

Grant says with a calm and serious tone, “Wally, I want you to show me the magic ability that you told me about before. Show me what you do when you cover the room with vines.”

Wally replies, “Certainly, Prince Grant.”

Many vines emerge from the floor and engulf Wally. Immediately after, the vines start to cover the entire room.

Wally’s voice echoes throughout the room. “How is this, Prince Grant? With this, enemies trying to attack me would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack.”

Keeping his usual expression, Grant simply states, “Although it is impressive, it has a serious flaw. Let me show you.”

Grant covers the whole room with light and then suddenly, Grant starts appearing in many different parts of the room seemingly at the same time, punching and kicking all of the vines. All of the vines quickly die and Wally’s body is exposed, leaving him in shock.

Grant resumes speaking. “You see, your vines don’t take much power to kill and it would cost you a lot of magic to regrow more continuously. An enemy that uses an attack that covers the whole room would quickly expose you.”

Wally sits on the ground in shock. All he can mutter is, “I… I see.”

Grant resumes speaking. “However, I can enhance your power and truly make you seemingly invincible to most enemies you will fight. My light can revive your vines. It wouldn’t cost you any energy at all and you can remain extremely difficult to target. Unless they are determined to just destroy the entire room, you will be safe.”

All of the vines in the room begin to revive from being exposed to Grant’s light.

Wally’s expression turns from shock to excitement as he shouts, “This… This is great!”

Wally’s flashback ends as he starts to regain his confidence. He thinks to himself. (“I’m not going to lose! I’m going to crush her!”)

Narrator: Pearl’s battle against Wally reaches its final stage!
