Chapter 27:

How far we've come

Life Stream: Helping a cute girl gain views and followers

“Kyah! The breeze feels so weird on my head,” Leona stated.

We had been walking around arm in arm as Leona guided me to her intended destination.

“They’re gonna yell at you for this,” I jibbed.

“Relax, Astrid said it was part of the reservation, besides it’ll probably feel weird now that I’m bald.”

Leona then placed her phone down before leaping into the convention center’s outdoor pool fully clothed.

“Come on in, I wanna kiss,” she smiled.

I chuckled as I took out my phone before also leaping in fully clothed.

“You should have told me it was cold,” I growled.

“Our love will warm it up; now let’s kiss.”

Leona then maneuvered her head under my mask as we kissed on the lips. This really did feel romantic though. Jumping in a pool fully clothed just to share a kiss, must have been something Leona always wanted to do.

After we kissed, we played around in the pool before Leona suddenly began grimacing in pain.

“What’s wrong!?”

“My head stings like crazy!”

“That’s because you’re not supposed to jump into a pool right after you shave your head,” a voice rang out.

We turned to see Astrid standing before us holding her smartphone.

“You two really are cute together. Hey Leona, if you get out, I’ll put something on your head to make it feel better,” she chuckled.

We climbed out of the pool and approached Astrid as she ordered Leona to sit down and close her eyes. After drying her head with a towel, she then whipped out a can of whip cream and began covering Leona’s head and face with it.

“Hey! What are you putting on me!?" Leona laughed.

“Just something to help your head feel better.”

Leona then licked around her mouth.

“HEY! This is whip cream! I thought it was some soothing cream!”

“Looks like you got pranked. Guess Crowboy will need to help you clean it up." Astrid teased.

Leona’s face went so red, the whip cream began to turn pink. My face also went red as Astrid struggled to contain her laughter.

“ASTRID!”

                                                                               …

After saying goodbye to Astrid, we hopped on the train and arrived back at our station. We then walked to the park where we had first met.

“It’s funny, ever since I began living on my own, I’d always come here when I was upset. I’d cry my eyes out until I regained my mojo and then return home. It was sadly a more recurrent routine then you might think. Back then, no one bothered to click on my videos, my parents hated me for flunking out of school and for me wanting to do all those dumb things I do in my videos. Heck, they even debated sending me off to a monastery to reform me instead of disowning me. Pretty ironic that I ended up bald in the end.

Though, the last time I sat on that swing was right before I met you. I know I overreacted a bit when I responded to your question, but I’m so glad I did. Because of that, I met a girl that shares my interests and became my best friend. I reached 100,000 subscribers and now have an audience that I can bring a laugh and smile to. Best of all, I met you. A man who was flawed just like me but was so inspired by me that you wanted to help me make a living. You didn’t even care about yourself, as long as I was happy that’s all that mattered. Luckily, you also grew too and are now a 10,000-subscriber strong channel as well as a top tier editor.

You make up for my shortcomings and being with you makes me the happiest I’ve ever been. I know we just became boyfriend and girlfriend, and I’m only 18, but I love you so much Mukuro, I want to marry you and spend the rest of my crazy life with you,” Leona smiled.

The moon shined brightly on her radiant smile. I took off my mask as I walked into the moonlight and kissed her on the lips.

“I love you too. I’d happily marry you. We practically live together anyways. Besides, all we really need to do is sign some papers.”

“Wait! I thought we needed to save up money for a big event.”

“That’s just the celebration. It isn’t required. Though if we marry, we wait a few years before considering children. I promised my grandfather I’d make my entire family happy. That means I want to make sure our living situation is healthy enough for us to raise a happy family.”

“You’ve come far from the nervous neet you were back then. I’ll say it again, I’m so glad I met a man like you that loves me no matter how much crazy shit I do.”

“Whether you’re in your base state or covered I slime, have long flowing hair or a shiny bald head, are chugging down prickly pear juice or a tube of wasabi, I love you Leona Wasabi Wasabi.”

“I love you too, Mukuro Kuroyami,” Leona smiled as tears began to pour out of her eyes.

                                                                                …

After happily embracing each other for a few minutes, we stopped by the store to buy some things before returning to Leona’s place.

“Talk about speedrunning. Yesterday we became boyfriend and girlfriend, today we’re engaged, and tomorrow we’ll be officially married,” I laughed.

"And tonight, we're sleeping together," Leona chuckled.

                                                                            …

Our faces went red as we slept next to each other.

“Can’t believe we're actually sleeping together,” Leona laughed.

“Me neither," I replied.

“So now that we’re going to be married what should I change my name to?”

“No need, Mukuro Wasabi sounds way better than Leona Wasabi Wasabi Kuroyami.”

“You’d do that for me?”

“You bet.”

“Will your parents be OK with this?”

“My mother might be a little upset, but now that she’s in higher spirits it should go over smoothly in the end. My father and Grandfather will probably pat me on the back when I tell them. Though what about yours?”

“Who cares. They disowned me and called me a disgrace. Besides, my father only reestablished contact with me just to tell me to stop streaming for his own benefit.”

“He hasn’t been causing you any trouble, has he?”

“Nope!”

“Good, let’s hope it stays that way.”

We then smiled at each other before drifting off to sleep.

                                                                              …

The next day, we signed the marriage papers and officially became a couple.

“I bet Astrid’s nowhere near this stage yet,” Leona gloated.

As we were leaving, a grumpy middle-aged man with a cane glared at us.

“You damn kids are insane! You should be focusing on improving your behavior instead of profiting off your degeneracy!” he growled.

We ignored him and walked on.

“Oi Wakame! Don’t you dare disrespect me! I’m a member of the Diet and will reform this country!” the man yelled as he began chasing after us.

“Sorry, we don’t know who you are. Please leave me and my wife Leona alone,” I stated.

“WIFE!? WHO THE HELL SAID YOU COULD MARRY!?” the man roared as he swung his cane down.

Leona and I effortlessly dodged as he shifted his focus to me. I then ducked as he took another swing at me.

“Come on man. Don’t take your hangover out on us,” I groaned.

“THAT DAMN DEGENERATE’S MAKING ME LOOK BAD! I’LL SUE YA- “

*Crash*

The man looked back in shock as he realized he had accidentally broken one of the glass picture frames with his cane. He then slumped to the ground in disarray.

“Please don’t bother us ever again,” I stated as I walked out with Leona.

“Thanks for being so cool. I even got some footage of him wrecking the frame,” Leona grinned.

“There were others recording the incident as well. Hopefully this serves as a lesson to him, and who knows, maybe he’ll reform and make up with you.”

“It would be nice to laugh with him and mother again, but even if that doesn’t happen, at least I have you,” Leona smiled.
