Chapter 3:

Chapter 3

Fake Eyes

Work began today. Wren was at the museum, taking ideas from the manager and designing them. Once they had finalized all of the ideas, work began

Wren was sitting in a cafe after a long day. She just wanted to go home and sleep now. She had yet to design a part of the museum which was dedicated to romance paintings and sculptures. She would have to give up her sleep for that. But she needed to do it.

Her eyes roamed the place and landed on a familiar face. It was the producer from yesterday! She growled internally. She didn't wanted to see him. He noticed her and walked over to her. He sat down in front of her. She glared at him.

"Excuse me, but who gave you the permission to sit at my table?," she asked, angrily.

"I sat down because I wanted to," he answered, cockily.

"Will you get up?," she asked, furious.

"Will you listen to me?!," he said, furious.

"I will call the security!," she said.

"Miss, listen to me!," he said.

"Why?!," she angrily asked.

"Because I need your help!," he answered.

Her eyes widened.

"H-help?!," she asked, shocked.

"Yes. My girlfriend isn't talking to me. Tell me what to do, please," he said.

"Oh, actually, I'm not that good at giving romantic advice. I've never dated anyone. I'm sorry," she said, awkward.

"Oh, that's okay. I'm sorry to bother you. I'll get up now," he said.

"But you should try calling her, mister.....?," she said.

"Min. Min Elvis," he said.

"Oh, nice to meet you. Kim Wren," she said, introducing herself.

"Miss Kim, my girlfriend hasn't been talking to me ever since I got back from Milan, no Paris, yes, Milan," he said, a bit confused.

"Oh. Why?," she asked.

"I don't know. She just didn't wanted to. She didn't even pick up any of my calls, too," he answered.

"Oh, that's bad. But, why is she doing this to you?," she said.

"I don't know. I thought I'd check up on her by visiting her house. So, I've got my manager looking for her. I'll visit her as soon as he finds out her home," he said.

"Oh, good for you. You'll be able to talk to her, then," she said, smiling.

"Yeah....miss Kim, would you go on a date with me?," he asked.

"What? But you have a girlfriend!," she said, shocked.

"You don't like to date someone who's already dating?," he asked.

"No, of course not! Plus, my mom has already found a nice match for me. And I'll marry him!," she said.

"Oh, fine then. Good night," he said.

He left. It didn't shock her that someone had just asked her out. But, the fact that she just said those words about Jay, did.

Magnus was waiting for her outside the cafe. She quietly sat in the car and they drove home.

She was up all night working on that project.

She dressed up in blue jeans and a black top to go to work, when someone knocked on her door.

"Morning!," Jay said, after Wren opened the door.

"Morning!," she said, smiling.

She blushed. He looked very handsome in his blue shirt and black pants. His cologne was ethereal!

"Shall I drop you to work today?," he asked.

"No, it's fine. I'll go by myself. Mister Xu will take me there," she answered.

"Why don't I pick you up, too? You should text me when work's over," he said, smirking.

"Did you hear what I said?," she said, laughing.

"Yes? You're saying yes? Alright! But why don't you come have breakfast first?," he said, laughing.

"Yeah, just a sec," she said, laughing.

She rolled up the chart from the table and tucked it under her arm. She took her waistbag and slid it over her head and onto her front. She had him staring at her as she did that.

"Let's go," she said.

Breakfast was quiet as Wren's mother was there.

"You sure don't talk when mom's around," Wren said, when she was in Jay's car.

"I'm just scared I might say something bad," he said.

"Don't worry. It's not that scary when you're not someone she doesn't like, like me," she said.

"It's okay. Your mom likes you plenty," he said.

"I wish," she said.

She sighed. He smiled.

"So, how's been work going?," Jay asked, changing the subject of the conversation.

"It's fine. I met that weird guy again," she answered.

"Which guy? The one you argued with the other day?," he asked.

"Yeah, him," she answered.

"What did he say?," Jay asked.

"I don't remember properly. Maybe he wants to meet his girl again or something. He said he wanted my help," she said.

"Will you help him?," he asked.

"I'll try. I'm thinking I should not, though," she said.

"Why?," he asked, laughing.

"He asked me out on a date. That's why," she said.

His eyes widened. He quickly changed his expressions.

"Oh, but you still should," he said, smiling at her.

"I really don't know why I should help him. He did seem desperate, though. Very desperate," she said.

"That's why! He's desperate to meet her, so why don't you help him?," he said.

"Oh, if you say so," she said, yawning.

He put his hand on her mouth as she yawned. Her face flushed at that. He noticed and passed a smile to her. Their eyes locked into each other's for a second.

"What?," he asked, when she broke eye contact.

"N-nothing," she said, blushing.

"Why are you blushing?," he asked, teasing her.

"N-nothing. I said it's nothing," she said, turning her face away.

"Don't blush like that. You look too cute to handle," he said.

"Shut up!," she said.

"Why do you always say that?," he said as he laughed.

"Well, the museum's here. I'm leaving. B-bye," she said.

"Bye. Work well. Text me later when you're done," he said.

She quickly got out of the car. Her heart was pounding insanely. He smiled at her. She was too cute for him.
