Chapter 61:

From The Depths Of An Emotional Heart

From the Depths of an Emotionless Heart

It had been three days since the roller coaster accident.

Four people had lost their lives in the incident. As the nation mourned, arrest warrants were issued for those responsible for the accident.

Saya had recovered and was now in a much better condition, able to walk comfortably.

Nevertheless, Rin and Saya were kept in the hospital for another three days as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Mika had a talk with Eirin.

Tomorrow was Saya's birthday. Rin and Saya would also be released tomorrow.

Everyone, from schoolmates to classmates, was very curious about Saya and Rin.

Everyone had visited them in the hospital. With the help of Mika and Eirin, a big birthday party was organized. Both of them had put in a lot of effort.

There were many teachers, classmates, and other students from the Disciplinary Committee at the birthday party.

When Saya and Rin arrived, the air was filled with confetti and celebration, marking not only their recovery, but also Saya's birthday.

During these three days, Mika had become even more aware of his feelings. His family had wanted to join him, but in their excitement, their voices had echoed loudly during the video call.

They were all so happy and excited.Mika had once again realized how much he loved Saya.

His self confidence had improved and he found himself reacting better in different situations and making better jokes.

When people noticed this change and asked him about it, he would tell them his story.

During Saya's birthday party, Mika and Saya sat together near the window. Other students were playing games and chatting with each other, creating a contented atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.

"Did you organize all these activities?" Saya asked, resting her head on her hand on the table and looking at Mika with happy eyes.

"Who knows? Well, most of the credit goes to Eirin. I just helped to make things happen."

"Thank you," Saya said with a smile.

The sun began to set as they looked at each other.

"Hey, let's go out on the balcony," Saya said, taking Mika's hand.

Mika followed Saya, holding her hand as they made their way to the balcony. His heart was racing and he had learned to understand his body's reactions much better.

Saya still held Mika's hand with her left hand.

"I told you twice, but I want to tell you again," Saya said, her eyes shining with hope and happiness.

The sun cast its light on her face, illuminating the surroundings with shades of orange.

"Hmm, what is it?" Mika asked with a small smile.

They looked at each other for a while. Their hands were intertwined, away from the others, lost in their own world.

Mika gave her a present. It was a golden necklace. Saya's eyes sparkled with happiness when she saw it.

"Can you help to wear it?" she asked.

"Of course," Mika said.

Gently he lifted Saya's hair and fastened the necklace around her neck.

Saya examined the necklace.

"It's beautiful!" she said.

"I'm glad you like it," Mika said, smiling. He felt something completely different.

They stayed in silence, looking into each other's eyes.

"Mika I've said it twice before but I want to say it again"

"I really, really love you," Saya said.

Her eyes were shining. There was a moment of silence.

"When did you tell me that twice?"

"You're silly, Mika. One time was at the train station and the other time was at your house."

"I understand the one at home, but what happened on the train?"

"Do you really not remember? I even asked you if you understood my message. Even though you were just a robot to me at that moment.

"I see. Wait, was it when you talked about the beauty of the moon?"

"Yes, you idiot." Saya burst out laughing. Mika looked at her; his heart felt like it would burst.

He was so happy.

"So, logically speaking, this is just a hormone thing," Mika said, smiling.

"You and your logic based thinking... You're like a software algorithm," Saya said, raising her eyebrows.

"Well, let me think with my emotions for once,"

And he kissed her. As the sun set, they stood on the balcony, hand in hand, kissing in the wind. They pulled away and looked at each other, both full of love.

"Mika?"

"I love you too."

They looked at each other smiling for a while .

Saya's tears started to pull down.

"As I look ahead, I can't help but reflect on the person I used to be. A person who couldn't grasp emotions, who unintentionally hurt others. But thanks to you, Saya, I've learned to feel, to understand, and to love. You've shown me that even the darkest corners of my heart can be illuminated by your presence."

"I've dreamed of this moment for so long, and I was so afraid it would just be a dream," Saya said.

"It's not a dream anymore, I'm here and I'm all yours," Mika said and kissed her again.

He felt an incredible relief.

Suddenly, the balcony door swung open and confetti burst out, showering them from outside.

"Congratulations!"

"Well done, Mika!" voices shouted in celebration.

Rin and Eirin stood by the window, looking at them and smiling.

Rin made a thumbs up gesture. Mika and Saya smiled and looked at those watching them. They still held hands.

"Thank you all!" Saya shouted.Their hands were in the air and it was official - they were a couple.

During this time, Mika thought:

So, love isn't just pain; it's the realization of a dream.

After Saya had recovered, she started going back to school. Saya and Mika had studied together for their exams year-round, spending months in libraries and classrooms, and finally, they passed their exams.

During this time, their families had also become close, and Mika and Saya's dream of going to Osaka together had come true.

Thanks to the software programs they had arranged together, they had managed to earn a significant amount of money, becoming capable of covering all expenses without relying on their families' help.

After their acceptances, both of them were admitted to Osaka University.

Before leaving Nagano, their families and friends had come to see them off as passengers.

"You two be careful, okay?" Naomi said.

"Don't forget to keep us posted," Hana said, hugging Saya.

Kai, Yuki, Mana, Naomi, Hana, Ren, Rin, Eirin. all of them were at the train station and said goodbye to Mika and Saya.

"Mika, you've done it again. You're going to the same university as your girlfriend and you're moving in together."

"And what about you, Kai? Aren't you just as guilty? You even bought a car just because you'll be away from Yuki."

"Well, you know, what's love? Would you have done anything different?" Mika looked at Saya. She looked at him from a distance and smiled.

"I would have done even more," he said smiling.

"I thought so," Kai said. After saying goodbye to everyone, they boarded the train with their suitcases.

"Saya, are you excited or sad?"

"Both. But mostly happy."

"A new journey begins for both of us."

"And it's a journey we'll take together. It seems that pink dreams can come true."

"Pink dreams? If there was a color, I would have called our story black or something. You know, numbness, emotionlessness..."

Saya looked at Mika and raised an eyebrow.

"What?" Mika asked a little nervously.

"Nothing. Just that I still think you're pretty bad at making jokes."

"Don't start again or else, I'll tickle you." Mika said slightly annoyed.

"Do it then."

Mika started tickling Saya. People on the train were looking at them and laughing. This new couple was enjoying the sunset with the excitement of embarking on a new journey together

Saya burst out laughing. The train had left and their future would be something completely new.

Mika looked at Saya. She was smiling and looking outside. He smiled to himself and thought:

Like the arrival of spring, my heart is blooming once again after years.

The returning emotions in my short life will carry the trace of love and memories.
