Chapter 15:

The Sports Festival

The Letters That Heaven Sent

The university went on like always, meeting mom went like always, and the sports festival was coming soon. Kuro played both football and basketball. Kobayashi-san played volleyball almost like a pro. The badminton team was lacking some players, and since no one was entering, why not just enter myself? Senpai was on the badminton team as well. I don't know if it's a coincidence or luck, but me and Senpai were teamed up.

She looks like she hits the gym a lot. On the other hand, I was never comparable to her. She really looked as if she could end the game herself. She had everything but one; she was a little bad at the game. Actually, a lot. She looked so beautiful, trying her best, which is not my style, but she was very cute. Eventually, we won the first match, and there were still seven more left.

Sorry, Arata-kun, I couldn't even score a point for us."

"This is how I learned it too. The hard way."

"I am sure you will do great in the next round."

Kuro won his match in football, and so did Kobayashi-san in volleyball.

"So we all won a match. Hehe," Kuro said.

"There are still seven more left for us. Winning one doesn't change anything. Kobayashi-san Said.

"Don't be such a pain. We all won one. It's a great feat. Let's all do our best in the second one. Kuro was very enthusiastic about sports.

Meanwhile, Senpai was meeting with her friends, who were supporting us.

"That boy really played like a pro. He literally smashed them both. Her friend said

"For his first year, he is really cute. Her other friend said "

"He is not for any of you two! Senpai said.

"Oh, someone is jealous."

"It's not like that! I just uttered it out." She was quite halfway through.

"Don't worry. We won't take him from you. Also look; he is looking at you."

She turned around in a flash, and I smiled.

"He looked at her and smiled. So it's working.

Eh? Where did she go?

She was right there, crouched down and blushing.

"You are seriously like that already."

My face blushed more than hers. Maybe there is something in my life that needs protection.

We're going for our second game now. This time, it was the famous twins of our university's second year. Megumi and Kana Akiyama They won last year with the highest scores and against the previous strongest.

We tried our best, but they were the strongest. By a point, we lost. Everyone cheered for us and knew how hard we both tried. Both of them acknowledged it as well. It might have been worthwhile.

"Again, I am sorry, Arata-kun. You did most of the work this tike too."

"It's fine, senpai; we did lose though. Not that it matters, but we are kind of known."

"Yeah, I never really wanted to be known all over the university. I was enjoying too much."

"I enjoyed it a lot as well. But also because you are teamed up with me. She took a gawk at me and was red all over. I don't know why."

Kuro and Kobayashi went on to win, and Kobayashi-san lost around her fifth match. Kuro went to the finals, and he won. It was kind of cool and awesome to see how he played.

We then thought of going out to celebrate Kuro's win, but he had to go out with his friends. So we three just went on for dinner. Senpai, out of the blue, asked Kobayashi-san.

"So are you and Kimura-kun going out?"

"(Coughs) Why would you think that, Senpai?" It's not like we are going out; I don't even know if he likes me. I am just keeping my feelings to myself."

"That will be bad, I guess. What if someone proposed to him before you did?"

"I don't know; I am just waiting for the right time."

"Better do it than regret not doing it."

She went deep into thought and just went on like that for the whole meal.

"Think about what I said, Kobayashi-san. Well then, bye."

"Bye Kobayashi-san."

"Bye both of you."

"Was it okay to tell her all that? Maybe she was going to do it anytime now.

"It's fine, Arata-kun. That will just push her to say it. I don't know how exactly any of this works, but we support her and wish her the best. That's just how we are."

"I see. I guess it's fine then."

We were just walking, and there was this pastry shop just by the road.

"Senpai, do you want to go into this pastry shop? It's looking good."

"If you want to, then let's go."

It was not very popular, but we wanted to try it.

"What flavour are you getting, enpai?" I think I will go with the blueberry cheesecake."

"I will go with the strawberry cheesecake then."

The waitress seemed to have the wrong idea about us. She was giggling while bringing the order, and over it all, she got only one spoon.

"Miss, can we get another spoon? She ignored me right away.

"Miss, can we get another spoon?"

"I am sorry, sir, we just went out of stock. It will take a day to get new ones."

Is this girl serious right now? It's so awkward and weird to get only one spoon.

"It's fine, Arata-kun. We will just eat with it."

"But how can we both..." She put her finger on my lips, and I'm not going to lie, it was way too hard to handle that move. She was really going all out.

"Let's eat then, shall we?"

"Okay senpai." Still beet red.

We went on eating, one bite at a time. We shared it throughout the end, and both of us were red to the core.

When paying, there was something fishy. Senpai waved and might have said, Let's meet tomorrow'. Now it's for sure—it was her friend.

No wonder they tried to set us up.

"I am sorry, Arata-kun; that was my friend. She really supports anyone she thinks is going out together. like, for example. Wait here for five minutes."

Another pair came in, and she did the same.

"You see, she isn't bad at heart and does everything to set someone up."

"Weird lady, but I guess it's fine."

We soon arrived at her house, and I was leaving when she called out to me.

"Arata-kun!"

When I turned around.

"You were really cool today. Bye." That certainly made me red.

She is really improving herself to act more like her. Well, she is happy, and so am I. She also said something about the moon being pretty on the night near the lake. What could she meant by it?
