As I sit down at my computer to read my email, I'm filled with dread. Feeling overwhelmed and stressed when my phone rang

Carol is calling!

“kenny! You haven’t taken the exam!!!”She yelled on the other line

“I've just received a notice from my school, informing me that I've been placed on academic probation due to unpaid tuition fees “I said calmly

” I feel like everything I've worked so hard for could be gone in an instant.” I whispered in disbelief

Knowing that my future is at stake.

“I consider asking my parents, but I know they're already struggling financially. I could try working more hours at the convenience store, but it would be hard to balance with school and other commitments”

“Let’s come up with a solution just please don’t be absent tomorrow “

I dint say a word

“Promise me?” carol added

I couldn’t help but to smile” I promise” I responded and hang up on the phone

"What a drag," I thought, drinking my instant coffee as I was doing my typical work as a cashier at the convenience store. "More caffeine," I said, sounding sleepy as I took one of the customers' orders. I could feel my eyelids getting heavy, and I was fighting hard to stay awake. It was already late at night, and I should have been at home, studying for my midterm exam instead of working here. But there was no way I could afford to quit my job, not when I needed every cent I could get to pay for my tuition fees.

I glanced at the wall clock hanging on my wall

As the clock ticks down to the deadline, I feel desperate and helpless. I don't know what to do or where to turn. All I can do is hope that somehow everything works out in the end

I was so sleepy, but I tried my best working at my night shift at the convenience store.

“Studying during the day and working at night is not an easy job. There's too much to sacrifice."

It was a struggle to keep up with work and school, but I did my best.

I did my best not to show my exhaustion to the customers, but I noticed a Kid acting suspiciously and walked towards him. "May I help you?" I asked politely. Before I knew it, he was hiding something from his jacket, a theft! I had to act quickly. "what are you hiding from your jacket?!" I said with a stern look, suddenly becoming aware of the seriousness of the situation. The customer was startled and tried to escape me, but I caught him before it could happen.

I looked over at the boy and the various baby products he had attempted to steal. Without hesitation, I crouched down and quickly picked up the items from the floor and handed it to the boy. "Here you go, you can go now,"  I let go of his grip and I smiled at him. He glanced away and ran away, disappearing into the night.

I couldn't help but feel guilty that I had let him escape. Still, hopefully, things would work out for the best.

but I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction, knowing I had done the right thing.

"Kennedy, Can you come here for a minute?" my manager standing at the cash register ordered

"Take off your uniform and leave," he repeated firmly, with a cold expression

my eyes widened. he saw the whole thing? didn't he?.....

"Why do I have to leave sir “I asked, trying to play dumb

"Your excellence in mathematics won't make you a good cashier," my manager said to me, almost condescendingly.

"You made a serious mistake, Kennedy. No matter how well you do in your mathematics classes, it won't change the fact that you let a costumer walk out of the store with stolen goods. This is a clear violation of store policy, and I have to fire you."

I felt crushed. I had worked so hard to be a top student in my math class, and now, my manager was telling me that my academic success wouldn't help me keep my job.

“But, but I thought I was doing well... I really tried my best...”I said

“I know, but unfortunately, we just can't have you work here”

You are always late to your shifts, making mistakes on your cash register, and having a lazy attitude to everything. And now, you allow a customer to steal from our store. I can't trust you anymore!"

"Kenny, I'm sorry to say this, but your performance as a cashier has been quite unsatisfactory."

"I've been tolerant with your frequent mistakes, but this is the last straw. Your carelessness is costing our store too much money, and I can't afford to keep you anymore. You're fired." he said coldly.

I just stood there in disbelief. I couldn't believe I was losing my job, just because I had let a hungry customer steal some baby food. I had always done my best, and I never thought that this would happen. But it seemed like there was no way out.

“You can go home now “he said and leave

I took my flip phone from my pocket “It’s almost 8 o’clock” I whispered

I decided to go out for a walk at the park near by the restaurant, taking a break from the busy world around me

Relishing in the peace and serenity of the night .there’s no soul to be seen as it was very cloudy with a great chance of rain

"I lost my job, huh?" I thought to myself. And then I looked up at the sky, feeling hopeless and unsure of my future. I had worked so hard at that job, and to be fired after one mistake was disappointing. I didn't know what I was going to do now.

I just walked along, staring at the ground and thinking about my situation. I didn't know what to do next. I just felt so lost and alone. It was a pretty rough day, and I wasn't sure how I was going to move forward.

When I heard a faint sound of a flute playing Auld Lang Syne, I stopped in my tracks.

The melody was soft and melodic, and the breeze carried it through the air. I followed the song to a small grassy clearing in the park, where I saw a figure standing, playing the flute.

As I approached the girl playing the flute, I couldn't help but gush over how beautiful his music was.

"That was absolutely amazing…" I whispered when the music stopped

It’s too dark for me to see things clearly but the street light not afar is enough for me to see her softly straight dark hair, giving her a soft and delicate appearance with her delicate finger held a silver flute in a tender grip, almost as if it were a precious or fragile object.. It was as if she had been taken out of a storybook, a beautiful and delicate figure that seemed almost too perfect to be real.

"I never thought flute can make beautiful sound”I was so mesmerized that I didn't even hear her speak to me or notice the beautiful music that was filling the night sky.

“It’s beautiful….Just like you”Subject: Reminder of pending unpaid tuition fee
