Chapter 39:

Out there

Dreams of Reality

"Have you been there yet?"

"Yeah, with Alan once."

"Aww, that's a shame. I was hoping it would be the first time there for both of us."

"Sorry, he wanted to go the day they opened, but it was good in my opinion, and I think you will like the food too."

"I know you aren't following things like this, so I hoped I would take you somewhere where you have never been. At least I don't have to worry about you not liking it there."

"I am not a demanding person. You don't have to worry about that."

"Everybody has preferences."

I nodded my head because she was right. I have things I don't like, but I don't want to put that kind of pressure on her. I am wondering where things will go today. Something feels off. We went out like this many times recently but something is different. Is she not acting
the usual way? Maybe stuff is getting in my head again.

When we finally got there, I immediately noticed the number of people inside. It sure got a lot more popular and busy than the last time I was here.

We ordered and now  are waiting.  Neither of us went with anything crazy. I was expecting that she would ask about what to order since it was her first time here, but no. It took them longer than the last time to bring our food, but the building was almost full so I cant blame them there.

"Anything new about Alan? How is he?"

"I haven't heard a word from him since last time. I don't think we have to worry about him, It's a common injury and I am sure he will be back at it in a few weeks."

"Okay. I thought you would be talking to each other a little bit more."

"I mean, we don't have much to talk about now."

"Why?"

"I don't know."

There was a small pause.
