Chapter 300:

Ride to Hell

Museworld

Tala smashed the headbutt brother’s skulls together, finally ending their onslaught as the ride was now jumping up, down, and all around tracing the track. Thankfully there were no loops- the cart’s design would’ve made them difficult- but something worse awaited them as everyone was worried about the coming entirely upside-down section that loomed in the distance.

The fangirl got up about as fast as she got put down, engaging Katie as the two started a strangely-equal duel considering how much smaller the villain’s weapon was. Frankie tried to help, but was soon set upon by another foe. The kicker dashed up to deliver a strike to her side, putting her back on the hard metal ground as she held it in pain. She couldn’t even move, but with Tara and Gen now focusing on restraining the grabber, nobody could help her except for one boy left out of the battle.

Nate shivered.

Why am I so afraid…? He wondered. Just the pain…? I feel plenty of pain already… what’s a little more? I’m not scared of dying. Not here, at least. It won’t change anything. But… there’s still something keeping me here… let go of me!

He tried to get his body to move, but it wouldn’t. Nate realized he wasn’t as brave as he thought.

Even if it’s inevitable… that doesn’t mean I want it…

Katie continued to struggle against the knife girl. The last thing she wanted was to see her sister hurt, but she couldn’t help her unless she removed this obstacle first.

<Take that! And that! And tha-ha-ha-haaat—!> The otaku cackled as she ruined Katie’s off-shoulder shirt she’d bought all the way back in Kansas.

“Leave me and my sister alone!” She finally let out all her rage, smashing the pipe into the girl a bit too hard. Knocked out the ground, the slicer was rendered unconscious, no longer a threat… Katie smiled.

Her attention was stolen by a scream.

“Gen!” Tala screamed as the grabber took hold of their friend with his wires.

“This is your boyfriend, kid-beater?” He laughed. <Let’s see how he likes skydiving!>

Holding him off the side of the ride, the stoic screamed, crying out for help.

“T-Tara!”
