Anything For You

Stuck between Gen and Frankie, Katie had to choose which to save.

While she had little reason to care about a jerk businessman over her own sister, whose belly was currently being kicked-in by a boy with artificial muscles, Tala’s buddy’s life was at stake, and it wasn’t clear if they’d be able to save him on their own.

Thankfully Nate was safe, at least- with only two threats remaining, the ball was in their court- but the stakes had suddenly gone up way too high.

Watching Tara’s efforts to save Gen… Katie convinced herself he’d be fine as she made her choice.

“Get off her!”

The kicker wasn’t ready for her assault in the slightest, so that was an advantage. What the woman did couldn’t really be called swordplay as she just rammed the blunt side of the pipe into him over and over. He eventually gave up, pleading for mercy as the sweating, panting warrior looked at him with these empty, strangely cold eyes. For just a moment, Frankie didn’t recognize her.

Meanwhile, Tala did everything they could to pry Gen from the grabber’s grasp, leaning off the cart with one foot on the floor to seize his body as it hung precariously off the side of the ride.

“Tara!” The salaryman made up his own mind. “Just… let go- don’t fall off the ride!”

“HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SAVE YOU WITHOUT DOING THAT, IDIOT?!” They furiously exclaimed, tears in their eyes again because of him.

Suddenly, everything flipped. They’d finally hit the upside-down portion of the track. This didn’t make the situation any better- the grabber had Gen by a noose, letting him hang down over the city as he and the others’ feet clung safely to the ride.

Tala whimpered. They couldn’t use their trickery- deactivating the only lifeline Gen had, even if it was killing him. They realized they were essentially powerless, just watching as their love was choked to death.

Unless…

<He’ll die! And what are you or your friends gonna do about it?> The punk taunted. “NOTHING!”

Katie, Frankie, and Nate watched in horror- there didn’t seem to be any possible way they could help. Katie began to regret her decision to help her sister when her life wasn’t at stake…

Then Tala did something more stupid than any of the otaku who attacked them.

“EVERYONE GRAB HOLD OF MY LEG NOW!”

The fighter made a jump for it.
