Dragonborn Arc | Chapter 1.5: "Dragon Slayed"

I pull out my two handed ax, and dodge his fire breath by rolling to the right. I dash in close, a slash cutting deep into the beast flesh, it lets out a howl of pain.

“Foolish mortal, you dare harm me. I shall put an end to this fight.”

As I try to go in for a second hit, I get pinned by one of the dragon's claws. It's crushing me. I hear my bones begin cracking, The dragon isn’t given up. I can feel my life fading away.

“Laughs So that's all you got. Stupid pitiful mortal.”

As my life is close to fading away. I muster up enough strength to pull out my knife and begin stabbing repeatedly. At first it wasn't making a difference until I managed to cut deep enough to the bone. The beast lets out a nasty howl of pain. I managed to get up on my feet but I lost my sense of balance. I grab my trusty ax and ready for a swing. As I'm about to swing the beast lets out a fire breath barely burning the left side of my body but I follow through cutting off the beast front leg. It falls to the ground letting out one last howl of pain. 

“Can't believe I was bested by a mere mortal. I have one favor to ask of you mortal. If you can manage to find my brethren. Can you tell them of my fate?

“I would but I don't even know where you come from.”

“I come from the dragon's home world called Micarro. I was banished from my home planet over killing one of my brethren. They teleported me here where I lost all hope of ever returning.”

“How do I get to the planet Micarro. I don't know any spatial magic.”

“Well I have a special ability that allows me to create a dimensional portal that connects planets to each other. You should be able to create a portal that takes you to my home planet. I was forbidden from using it. On top of that you should gain my powers for slaying me.”

“Powers? What do you mean?”

“It's said that when a dragon falls it's soul and abilities are transferred over to a new host. For example you should be able to breathe fire just like me. As well as your body can withstand intense heat.”

The dragon lets out one last breath as its body seems to dissolve and a strange beam of light pierces my body. I feel a strange energy coursing through my body. The dragon's body fully disintegrated. I fall to my knees as my whole body feels like it's on fire. The pain subsides as I get back up. What just happened? Did I gain the powers of a dragon?
