The Flight

Incidentally, while many would presume they would get on the same flight by fate, it was given that someone like Nora would have private means of travelling.

Although the plane she would use to travel to Japan didn’t belong to her since she had just started her little career, it was the private jet of a gaming company who sponsored her keeping hopes on her potential in the distant future.

After a long wait, Satomi’s commercial flight had arrived. It didn’t take a while for all the passengers to get in and settle to their seats since they were already quite unhappy with the long delay. All the passengers and their luggages were boarded successfully within time and was ready to take off.

But as to be expected, unfortunately, the flight got delayed another 10 minutes due to an unexpected event which the respective pilot let know the passengers through the following announcement,

“This is Captain Joseph of Flight 367 speaking. It is a sorrow to announce but our flight will be delayed for a couple of minutes owing to a case which might make some of you happy and feel lucky. The transport, the famous Suchika Nora was using as her means of transport was recently declared with some malfunctions and to add to this misery, the workers for the jet’s maintenance were negligent for which fuel was yet to be put to fill the tank which usually takes some hours. So it has been issued by the authority that she will travel via our plane since we have a vacant seat. This is all for now, thank you for your patience. ‘Over’.”

It indeed was a surprise and a matter of joy to many of the passengers since they were all huge fans of Nora but the one who would be the most astounded would be Satomi since his prayers or thoughts somehow got granted. Everyone quickly began to search for the empty seat to see where their idol would sit and so did Satomi following his heart despite his brain resisting to do so. It was as if he wished his other wish to be accepted as well.

But it seemed that his luck had already run out since an old lady took the seat next to him and upon noticing the seats behind him he saw that the vacant seat was nowhere but behind him.

Once again accepting the reality, Satomi just helped the old lady to sit comfortably and kept her luggage in the upper compartment safely.

As one would assume, once Nora entered the plane, she was surrounded by her fans for her autograph and to take pictures as any other fan would want. But due to the fact that this situation was still unusual to Nora, she began to faint but before she could, the flight crew came and helped her to her seat and maintained peace in there so that none would be a bother to anyone.

To one’s expectation, as soon as Nora took her seat she began concentrating on her personal gaming device as any gamer would do. Beside her was a middle aged well-suited businessman and he had absolutely no idea why such a big deal was going on so he minded his own business which ensured harmony and gave private space to Nora.

*Satomi sighing often*

Seeing Satomi’s state, the old woman asked him, “Anything wrong,dear?”

Satomi felt a bit guilty then worrying the old lady and replied, “Oh sorry, I am quite alright. Sorry to bother you. Please let me know if you need help with anything.”

“Thanks dear. I sure will. I don’t usually get much help with my works so an extra hand would do me a favour.”

Soon afterwards, the regular announcements and systems were being declared by the crew members.

Everyone was told to fasten their seatbelts and adjust their seats as they liked by leaning them behind or straighten it. However, while the crew were giving safety tips and measures to follow during emergencies, the seats of the old woman and Satomi was found to be immovable.

*Ring for help from flight crew rang from Satomi’s seat*

Upon arriving towards Satomi a crew enquired what was wrong and then Satomi said to him,

“Umm excuse me but our seats seem to be stuck and we can’t lean it as we wish.”

“About that Sir, your seats are next to the emergency exits for which they were made so that they can’t be leaned back or forward.”

Being worried about the old woman’s condition, Satomi asked her,

“Will this be a problem for you?”

“Unfortunately yes my dear. Thank you for asking. I can manage somehow though even if I have minor back issues.”

Nora being an introvert was pretty scared travelling alone for the first time and for this she paid heed to every announcements during the time of take off. Incidentally, she overheard the issue of the old lady and she acted on her own and offered the old lady her own seat.

The old woman then told her, “Thank you very much, dear. I really appreciate this and sorry for the inconvenience.”

“It’s not that big of a deal. I didn’t need to lean my seat either way.”

Thus, at last, as expected Nora ended up sitting next to Satomi which obviously is nothing less than their fate to be brought together no matter what the circumstances are.

While changing seats Satomi’s heart had again started to beat heavily but he maintained his cool demeanor and cold posture. But as earlier mentioned, a door to a secret compartment locked away for years had opened up and he was bound to introduce himself to Nora even though his brain wasn’t telling to function that way. Finding no other way he made a excuse to himself by telling that this was only socialization and normal interaction to get to know a fellow passenger seating beside him.

He approached Nora gently with the mindset not to scare her knowing that she was an introvert and most likely hated interacting with others.

He said to her,

“Hey there, I am Satomi Kurasaki, an army officer, travelling to Japan to meet my family whom I haven’t seen for days. I recently heard about you and to be exact it was today. Don’t mind me though, I was just introducing myself and knowing how famous you are I will try my best to protect you of any harm as my national duty.”

Meanwhile what Satomi had in his mind was,
‘aaaahhh what am I even sayinggg…what has become of meee. I gotta return to my stable state or somethings terrible is gonna happen. I can sense it down my spines…’

Nora then answered Satomi in a confused state, “I think you already know my name but the names Nora, Suchika Nora. Thanks for your worry. Hopefully nothing will go wrong.”

Maybe she didn’t know and even if she did perhaps she didn’t believe that jinx’s can be real but what is coming for them will make it clear that she just set a big black flag.
