Chapter 182:

Cinnamon, spice, and a Scandinavian Bongcloud

En Passant Grandmaster

"Yay, yay, I get to play!" Cinnamon smiled as she moved her pawn to e4.

"I really wanna punch that derpy face of yours," Iori grumbled as she moved her pawn to d5.

Cinnamon quickly began to tear up. "Wha What's wrong with muh face!? I just like smiling! WAAAAAAAAAH!"

Rika glared at Iori as she held Yumi tightly in her arms. It took a lot to get her really angry, but Iori was coming close to it. The others also weren't enjoying even though they decided to head out.

"What!? Ever see that video of the final boss grandmaster making a little kid cry!?" Iori fumed as her friends left.

As Cinnamon cried, the others decided to tour the place.

"Wow, this is like an entire mall theme park," Mimoko nodded.

Indeed that was the best way to describe Ryokoma. Rika's creative vision to make the place an all-in-one fun palace and restaurant had truly taken off. The fun even spread to the neighboring bay which featured restaurant yahts and motorboat racing in conjecture with the local motorboat and betting associations.

"I've heard the train ride here is very popular, and you can even eat your meal on it. Wanna try it?" Yuzuha asked.

Everyone nodded and headed over. Meanwhile, Cinnamon had finally calmed down enough to resume play and captured the pawn at d5 with her e-pawn.

"Expecting a Scandinavian? BOOM! Scandinavian Bongcloud, BITCH!" Iori maniacally shouted as she slammed her king down on d7.

Cinnamon began to tear up again, but moved her pawn to d4 before crying again.

"Heh, keep crying, we're on the clock so I'll win on time," Iori thought as she moved her pawn to g6.

Cinnamon however, didn't stop playing and moved her pawn to c4, eliciting an annoyed tongue click from Iori as she moved her bishop to g7. Cinnamon then began to calm down and her derpy smile returned as she moved her pawn to h3.

"Great, the derpy smile's back," Iori groaned as she moved her pawn to c6.

"Why the meanz shouting? Mommy says my smile's cute!" Cinnamon pouted as she captured the pawn at c6 with her d-pawn.

"Little shit," Iori growled as she captured said pawn with her knight.

"Oh yay! A horsey! I ride them on the merry-go-round!" Cinnamon smiled as she moved her pawn to d5.

"Then why the hell ya kicking it away?" Iori snarled as she moved her knight to d4.

"The person wanted to ride him," Cinnamon replied as she moved her knight to f3.

"'Person'!? Heh, then why don't ya have the queen ride the horsey," Iori snickered as she moved her queen to b6.

"The other horsey wants to play though!" Cinnamon retorted as she moved her knight to c3.

"Oh I get it, it's selective child's play. Well fuck you, check!" Iori glared as she captured the knight at f3 with her knight.

"NO! Bad horsey! You go in time out! Cinnamon cried as she captured said knight with her queen.

"Alright brat, let's get down n' dirty," Iori glared as she moved her queen to f6, hoping for a trade.

However, Cinnamon moved her queen to d1, ticking off Iori and prompting her to move her knight to h6. Cinnamon followed up by moving her bishop to d3, but it was after Iori moved her knight to f5 that something extraordinary happened; Cinnamon castled on the king's side.

In an ordinary game, this would be business as usual, but Cinnamon had never played chess before, nor even been taught about things like castling or en passant. There also weren't any instances of castling in either of the previous games she had seen, which further piqued Raymond's interest.

"Young lady, how did you know about castling?" Raymond asked as Iori moved her knight to d4.

"The king wanted to leap over da castle so I let him," Cinnamon smiled as she moved her knight to e4.

"You little! Ugh, and why is her castling such a big deal?" Iori grumbled as she moved her queen to e5.

"Because she is playing more like she sees the moves. Yes, she's like a young Mimoko Inoue. The future of chess is strong indeed," Raymond chuckled as Cinnamon moved her rook to e1.

"You think she's got talent? And wait, the king can move two spaces like that?" Rika asked as Iori moved her queen to h5.

"Correct. I apologize for not giving you a complete in depth tutorial on how to play, but I wanted to see whether you would "see" the moves, much like how your daughters did," Raymond stated as Cinnamon moved her queen to a4.

"Well I sure as hell didn't, but glad they can," Rika smiled as Iori angrily moved her pawn to b5.

A smile began to form on Iori's face as Cinnamon grabbed her queen, but it quickly faded as instead of capturing the pawn on b5 like she hoped she would, she moved it to b4. She quickly began cursing under her breath and moved her pawn to h6. However, her troubles were far from over as Cinnamon then moved her knight to g3, threatening her queen.

"Alright little shit, get checked!" Iori snarled as she moved her knight to f3.

"Yay! Now Mr. Person can ride the horsey!" Cinnamon smiled as she captured said knight with her g-pawn.

"OH FUCK! PSCHY! I JUST GO HERE!" Iori manically shouted as she moved her queen to h4.

"Yay, now the castle can see da queen," Cinnamon smiled as she moved her rook to e4.

"You little shit," Iori growled as she moved her queen to f6.

"Checkers!" Cinnamon smiled as she captured the pawn at b5 with her queen.

"'Checkers'!? This is chess dumbass! And fuck, I was hoping not to move my king for the flex, dammit!" Iori fumed as she moved her king to d8.

"Ah, so that's why she was making questionable moves. Well her ego came back to bite her," Daria thought as Cinnamon moved her bishop to d2.

"I believe chess with checkers is a proper variant," Raymond stated as Iori moved her bishop to d7.

"Wait what!?" Iori gasped as Cinnamon moved her queen to b7.

"Yes, in addition to playing with checkers, you must remember which piece is which. Fear not, for the WWCF card lets you know what legal moves you can make with each piece," Raymond stated as Iori moved her rook to c8.

"Sounds like fun! More checkers!" Cinnamon cheered as she moved her bishop to a5.

"Little sadist," Iori growled as she moved her king to e8.

"Huh? I'm not sad," Cinnamon stated as she moved her a-rook to e1.

"Like I believe you. Damn sadist prodigy," Iori grumbled as she moved her pawn to e6.

"Yay! I get to say "checkers" again!" Cinnamon cheered as she captured said pawn with her rook.

Iori glared and quickly captured said rook with her bishop, only to go pale a second later. "FUCK I SCREWED UP!"

"Checkers!" Cinnamon smiled as she captured the rook at c8 with her queen.

"Hah! Queen meat shield!" Iori desperately shouted as she slammed her queen down on d8.

"But Mr. Bottle's got the path clear so Checkersmate!" Cinnamon smiled as she captured the queen at d8 with her queen, winning the game.

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? I LOST TO TWO BABIES IN A ROW!?"

"Cinnamon's 4. Now I believe you did say you wanted to eat something nasty, so how bout some volcano hot crickets and grubs," Rika menacingly smiled.

"Huh, you have bugs here?"

"They're considered delicacies in some parts of the world, that and streamers love trying to eat them. Oh, and we put the hottest of sauces along with ghost pepper spice on em."

No sooner did Rika finish explaining the meal did Mimi return with it. With a frustrated shout, Iori dug into the mountain of spicy hot bugs.

"Mommy, do I get head patz?" Cinnamon asked Rika.

"Yes you do. You too Yumi. You both avenged me and made me proud," Rika smiled.
