Chapter 19:
Will you give this cute tsundere love?
It's Labor day again, meaning more Beansoup. Nina's really learned how to understand English, despite still not being able to speak it very well. Guess the same is true with me and Japanese.
Hard to believe it will be almost a year since she first came here, but the time has flown by. I think I've given her enough love, I really hope I did. I want her to be real.
"Johan... Johan!"
The sound of a voice calling out rouses me from my sleep. I look around and notice, I'm alone. Was this entire year, just a fantasy? No, it existed. In fact, Nina was real, at least real in the sense that she existed in fiction. I guess it's time to reveal the twist, I'm the author of Will you give this cute tsundere love? Perhaps you've seen me giving an interview on my hot takes on En Passant Grandmaster's games and characters.
Johan? Oh, he's a character too. Well, I guess he gets lucky and gets Nina. But me, I'm stuck in reality. Ah well, maybe I'll find a girl like Nina eventually. Huh? Why are you sniffling? Don't feel bad for me, I'm only saying stuff like that to pad out the story. Though if you really are feeling sympathetic, thanks. Anyway, back to the Labor day special, which will actually be written on Labor day this year...
"JOHAN!"
"GAH!"
I wake up to find Nina staring directly at me.
"You were all frozen-like and weird! What happened!?"
"Uh, I had a weird dream about some Mario guy complaining about gorillas and cheeseburgers, or was it his failed love life?"
Author's note: I made him think that for comedic value!
"Well, I'm rewinding the stream so you can see Benny pour beans on his alien friend and then into his computer," Nina huffed.
"Thanks Nina. Hey, do you love me?" I asked
Nina pouted. "Well only when you pay attention to me, I guess."
There's that cute tsundere we all know and love.
