Chapter 5:

Metallic heartbeat that continues.

Tsurihito's Bride

The metallic heartbeat of the train really draws me in. Its like... it has its own emotions. Philosophically it really does. The emotions of the people who travel with hope, eagerness and enthusiasm to see their loved ones again after a long time and those with grief, maybe because of the loss of someone similar diffused into this atmosphere, the atmosphere of the train.

I will be honest, it has some not so good side too. The constant moving to the train carts makes me really motion sick... I hate it.

"Are you okay Katsuhito-kun?", Our female class representative, Maya enquired with concern. "Your face looks pale."

"Yeah... it happens...", I suddenly remembered why I didn't go to fujigawa at all after I came to Tokyo. Its because of this motion sickness. I haven't quite seemed to get over it.

She was kind enough to hand me a bag just in case I threw up. "Take care of yourself. If you need help you can call me okay?"

"Yeah. Thanks."

I gazed in front of me. She in her whole beauty sat directly looking at me, sipping on her coffee.

"I enjoy trips... or so did someone say...", she said with a smug.

"Exploring... I love exploring on foot... not on train."

"Heh. Don't worry about throwing up. I will clean the mess for you afterwards."

"Ehh... you sure are evil." I looked outside to get myself some fresh air, resting my head on my palm. Maybe that would help me with my sickness.

Japan sure looks beautiful outside Tokyo though. Not saying Tokyo is not beautiful, but the natural greenery of the open fields isn't bad at all. It looks more like a dreamland from here. The few houses here and there, the trees that is scattered densely across the empty lands. Maybe these properties belong to some landlord or something. Its rare to see such empty spaces being left out.

Teiji sat behind me, I couldn't seem him from there.

"Hey!", I suddenly feel a light smack on my head. "I am already dizzy enough, you didn't have to do that!"

I got up on my seat and leaned over their space of the train.

"Sorry" He laughed without an ounce of sincerity. "I thought that would make your mind work properly."

"Teiji you shouldn't bully your best friend like that." Sitting next to Teiji was Satoshi, a smart dude. He was our male class rep. He always puts his glasses back while talking as if he's in an anime or something.

"Thats exactly why I am bullying him, am I right?"

I sighed. He is like that. "Yeah."

Mimi-chan sat diagonally to Teiji, his crush to whom he hasn't confessed yet. He doesn't have the courage to do so that is. She giggled at our silly conversation, from which I could feel Teiji  becoming reddened. Maya sat beside Airi-chan, mostly out of concern for me about the motion sickness. But she was gazing at Airi-chan a few times, as if something concerned her.

"Hey Katsuhito! Let's play Uno.", It was Takuma, the popular guy in our major. Well, saying that would be an understatement, he's popular in our whole university to be honest. He took the seat beside me, gracefully hopping into my comfort zone without much effort. But I know what his intentions were.

"Would you want to join, Maya-chan?", he had his eyes on our female class rep. She was his type of girl. Well I don't mind, he was popular for sure, but I know he isn't a playboy.

"I mean.. okay."

He distributed cards among me, Maya and him. "Aren't you going to going to play, Airi-chan?"

Takuma almost stood like a statue after hearing that.

She smiled at me. "Nope. I am going to sip on my coffee and enjoy the scenery."

"I see."

We continued on our play of uno. Miko leaned over Takuma's seat. She was a tall, blonde haired girl. She was on her phone. "Ehh... pretty rare of you to play uno." She said dryly.

Miko was childhood friends with Takuma. I guess she already knows Takuma's intentions from the start. But she seemed to be interested in Airi-chan. She looked at her while Airi-chan was reading a book. Well, I agree, she is a sight to behold.

"Woah...", My eyes widened as I looked upon the giant gothic mansion. I looked at my classmates, their reaction was the same as me. "We will be staying in this... thing for the trip?"

Our Teacher, Takashi-sensei stood behind us with his arms proudly on his waist. "I might not be in my youth but I have strong connections."

"Sensei you are in your mid thirties but you sound like an old man.", Miko was unhinged as she said that. I was impressed at her ability to not hold back.
