10th-grader Wallace Wade has a bit of a problem: he's been punning nonstop lately. Uncontrollably, in fact. Try as he might, he just can't seem to stop scraping the bottom of an inexhaustible barrel gunked with the lowest form of humor.

Weird. Maybe it's karma. Maybe it's fate. Maybe it's just a classic case of poor word choice.

Or maybe it's the radioactive waste his mad scientist grandfather has secretly been stowing in the basement all summer.

Wallace still isn't exactly sure, but he has bigger problems to worry about. His anime figures aren't going to un-kidnap themselves after all, and if he ever wants them back, he's going to have to put his newfound punning prowess to good(?) use and become his school’s first and only official pun detective.
