The year is 4 BC, 23 years after the start of Augustus's reign as the first Roman emperor. But for 40 years an island, Ilva (what we now call ‘’Elba’’), has been outside of his powers, de facto separated from the rest of not only the Roman world but the whole continent. Nobody has been able to leave that island without the inhabitants' consent, and only whispers and legends were able to cross the sea: they tell of a place of wonders, without illness or famine, where every man and woman are free to do anything they want… anything but leave.
People from outside have started calling it ‘’Nova Atlantis’’, a successor of the one from Plato’s works.
Now a young roman prince, to escape the duties and expectations of his life, wants to discover the truth behind this island and what is really happening in the ‘’Last Utopia’’.
