Under The Dome is Woe is a unique novel. Not for it's plot, but for it's writing. If one were to read the first chapter, they would see sloppy technique, and likely turn away from the series. But if they continue reading as I did, they'll see the writing gradually improving to the point where it has peak levels of reader engagement. The story behind this is that the author originally wrote this story years ago, and decided to post the 1st draft, so to say, as a way to showcase how the story was originally written. If I look a things from that angle, this is a masterpiece in terms of gradually improving one's writing.
As for the story itself, it does suffer due to the poor writing of the early chapters, but gradually becomes more engaging as it goes on. The ending is a cliff hanger though, and while it does make me clamor for more, it also leaves me feeling as though there could have been a little more story to better resolve some unanswered plot points. But as the saying goes, nothing a volume 2 can't fix. While some might have trouble getting past this novel's early chapters, I strongly encourage readers to give this a chance, as even though the story has a rough start, it ends finely polished, and poised to deliver in the sequel.
