I enjoyed reading the novel very much. A perfect light read, suitable for commuting or e-reading. I did most of my reading during commuting, and it was a delightful reading experience for me.
About the story: the main plots are well thought through. The characters' images are multidimensional by design, which complements the main message of the story. I like the mixture of light, fun moments with the embedding of elements of Japanese culture, the description of the real world, human history, and the deeper philosophy regarding human nature. I could see the knowledge, philosophical and emotional depth of Oniisanbomber, which I appreciate very much. These helped me relate to my own life, and my relationship with the world and humanity. I kept wondering if I am living full-on, even if I had dissatisfactions in life, and if the world were to end.
Though there could be some chapters with slower development, overall, the cliffhangers in the story have kept me engaged. In hindsight, those slower moments allowed me to reflect on the deeper side of the story.
The best part of the story is definitely the ending. It's an emotional twist for me. A lot of emotions were elicited by the story ending, and such were big contrasts to the lightness in the early chapters. I have developed a lot of mixed feelings towards the characters. I guess this is an indicator of the story's success in character development? The ending left me hanging, and I would love to see a sequel to this story. Thanks to Oniisanbomber for the great story :')
