Me and The Hero Parted Ways

Syalmm and Oquive have been together for longer than they could both remember. Growing up in a small village where nothing interesting really happens, both were joined by the hip primarily due to their fondness for each other. When they were 13, Oquive was chosen as the youngest and first female hero in history to face the Croaking Witch, a formless anomality that has been haunting their world for centuries and is most vulnerable when it adapts a human body in the form a baby it possesses and grows in for 16 years until eventually giving the body to one of its "children". Syalmm decides to accompany Oquive on her journey and eventually they form the adventuring party "Nift". After 10 years of adventuring with this group, Oquive mentality began to change drastically after being thrown into one tough situation after the next. This change in personality causes Syalmm to leave the party.

In case anyone gets confused, how I'm planning to tell the story is by jumping in between the past and the present. I think this way makes for a more fun read because you can put the pieces together yourself.
