Hello there! I am just someone with a lot of ideas. If my stories do well, I take it as a plus. I work on a few different platforms and my stories often feature dark and grim settings with no real villain. Oh yeah, they also feature overpowered female characters.

Hello there. Here are some answers to a few of your questions.

For the first question, that is revealed later on. For the second question, the Vault is locked with the keys to actually unlock any of the cells inside the Vault being in the laboratory part of the Orphanage, which is in the basement, an area where the orphans currently don't have any keys to get into. Also, the Vault is in the main area of the orphanage, which is considered the testing ground. The entire orphanage is an experiment, and the experiment has rules. Because of that, anything in the testing ground is free game, meaning the scientists can be killed there.

To answer your other question, Kallie and Samatha are allowed back into the area where the orphans live because of the rules of the experiment. In the past, other orphans have managed to escape from the guards, even killing them once, However, there was no retaliation. Tonight was no different with the two guards dying. However, Kallie is an actual threat. While the rules allowed for her to escape safely into the area where the orphans live, the rules will change because of her escape. After all, you don't expect the people your killing to have a person who can kill two armored and skilled guards with a spoon and not do anything about it.

To answer your final questions, none of the orphans have escaped from the orphanage. Samatha assumed that Kallie was in a situation similar to her own but Kallie was in a cell when she found her, so Kallie did not escape. For the monsters that roam the main building of the orphanage, they are in places where the orphans need to go in order to escape and rarely roam outside those areas. The orphans avoid those places due to the traps and monsters in the area. As stated earlier, this entire thing is an experiment, and escape does seem to be something the orphans can do. Just no one has done it yet. What I can give you so far is that the place the orphans are staying in is the only safe place where the monsters can't get them. The doors that let them roam the rest of the orphanage is locked during the day and they have none of the keys to unlock it and the window are all reinforced, making breaking them impossible. The front and back doors are also locked and the courtyard and the small backyard are both walled in with a metal fence underneath the dirt to stop anyone from digging out. In order to leave, the orphans must find the keys and tools to get out.

Also, I wanted to thank you for giving me the idea of using the name Kaylee, so thanks! I hope I answered your questions, or the ones I can answer without spoiling too much of the story. Here is a minor spoiler. Aunt Ravean isn't the only person in charge of the experiment so she can't make all the rules. Someone, or someones, made the orphans freeing Kallie an option.
